Even my 8 year old comes to me asking for shrimp fried rice and a California roll. Im so glad I found this place!Update:FB memories showed me a meal I got from them...as I was ordering this week. Still going strong with my love of this spot. My son and I are currently on a yaki-soba noodle kick and the Spiderman roll, but weve had almost all of their entrees now and have never been disappointed.

No, the guy behind the counter isnt exactly one for chit-chat, but maybe thats why he decided to just be a sushi chef & cut the entire restaurant service part out of the equation. It makes sense! I would not describe him as rude, as other reviews have. Hes just doing his job, hes always busy.Regarding the quality of the food, I have zero complaints. Everything always tastes fresh. (Im especially fond of the Heaven Roll.) Im not coming here for ambiance, I come so that I can afford to eat delicious sushi at home. This is exactly the place Im looking for.

Don’t pass this place up as its outside appearance can be deceiving in a small strip mall.Ordered during a storm tonight and they lost power in the middle of making my order, the owner called me as I was pulling in and said he could only complete one of the 3 dishes. He gave me the one and said he would fully refund me for the inconvenience. Great customer service, we’ll have to order again soon as I was really craving some sushi.

I love that the veggie roll is loaded with more than just cucumber and carrots. It has cucumber, avocado, asparagus, pickled radish, kampyo & sprouts! The touchdown roll was fantastic!!!! A crunchy, tasty kick with spicy yellowtail, cream cheese, jalapeno, cilantro, masago, scallions, spicy mayo, wasabi mayo & eel sauce at a bargain price of 10.99.Its a carryout place, a hole in the wall, so to say. The atmosphere is as good as you would expect for walking in to grab your togo order. Food is well packaged. Polite worker, too!

I discovered them about a month ago, and have returned about 10 times since because the sushi is good and affordable. The quality of it exceeded my expectations given the neighborhood, however...There is something very off about the male employee, who identified himself as the owner. Not sure if English not being his first language is causing miscommunication or there are cultural clashes at play, but he comes across as though your patronage is burdensome to him.You cant order in-person or over the phone (weird, but whatever), so orders are placed through their website or a third-party courier service. Since I have a perfectly functioning vehical, I dont see the point in paying someone else to deliver it to me.Once the order is paid for with a credit/debit card, the site gives you an estimated pick-up time...and oh my God, you better be there exactly when it says or face the wrath of His Sushi Highness.My last visit, I was given an estimated time of 55 minutes to I believe an hour an 15 minutes. I made the mistake of arriving at an hour and 30 minutes. 😱 The gentleman had a look of annoyance on his face as per usual, but he really became upset when I simply inquired if there was a utensil in the bag.Upon his reaction, I finally worked up the nerve to ask why he is always so upset. He said that my habit of arriving later than the estimated pickup time (typically 20 minutes or so) is rude...?? As someone who has worked in the food service industry for 15 years (including two Japanese restaurants), it is not unusual nor have I ever seen it perceived as rude for someone to give themselves leeway on time when picking up a to-go order...ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS ALREADY PAID FOR. Not to mention, I always leave a tip despite being met with attitude. His reasoning is that it gets cold, which makes no sense as it is takeout and the temperature is of my concern.The defensiveness is extremely off-putting. Even so much as asking to tie the bag tighter (or doing it myself) so the soup thats stacked on another container doesnt fall over apparently offended him, as he referenced that request several times afterwards. WEIRD.I attempted to reason with him because I was genuinely confused and wanted to deescalate the situation, but as I did so his tone grew more hostile. He told me he doesnt want me ordering there anymore and to use the courier services.Wow. Just wow...and all because I requested for a bag to be tied bit tighter and not reporting for duty exactly as instructed. So weird!!Theres another sushi joint off Grand and they seem to be much more grateful for your business. A tad more expensive but at least theyre appreciative you choose to spend your money with them.I will say that the female who works here, who I presume to be an owner as well, has been nothing but kind. I like supporting local businesses (even promoted this place to a couple friends) and I do not want to be unnecessarily fussy...but good lord. Comment: Our first time ordering tonight. We got quite a lot of sushi and the crab Rangoon. Everything was absolutely delicious! The Rangoons arent sweet like a lot of places locally, which I love. It also comes with sweet & sour, which was also great. We got 5 different rolls and every single one was fantastic. Im pretty sure they even threw in a few pieces that we didnt order. Ive driven by this place many times, Im glad I finally thought to give them a try. This location has been a revolving door of businesses in the last few years. I had been going to another sushi place for the past year or so as it was the best sushi I could find that was consistently good... until now.I found this place almost by accident as I was searching through Google and gave it a try. I got the shrimp tempura, miso soup, a jalapeño-tuna appetizer, Sake Don bowl, and Sweet Wonder roll.The shrimp tempura also comes with vegetables and was the heaviest of the boxes. Probably 20 pieces of shrimp and vegetables, plus dipping sauce. The batter was sweet and tasty.The miso soup was nice and strong, not watery like Ive had elsewhere. I could have eaten a quart of it.The jalapeño-tuna appetizer was just the perfect level of spiciness, with spicy mayo, wasabi mayo, Sriracha, tuna, all in a hollowed-out jalapeño. I love the kick of all those sauces, but wisely saved most of it for another day so I wouldnt get heartburn.The Sweet Wonder roll is my favorite sushi roll in all of St. Louis. Its absurdly large in diameter--since I was eating at home, I stopped trying to use chopsticks and picked it up. The crab, salmon, avocado, and cream cheese go just perfectly together.The Sake Don is in my fridge untouched, but certainly looks delicious. Its salmon on sushi rice with sprouts. Comment: This is my third time ordering from here and I think it’s safe to say I’m in love. The tonkotsu ramen is like a hug in a bowl, and I love the fried cali roll too. Ever since my first favorite ramen and sushi place closed unexpectedly, I wasn’t sure I’d ever find another spot to patronize close to my house that I actually liked (because contrary to popular belief, all fried cali rolls are not created equally). I’m really glad I took a chance and tried this place out though. Keep up the great work!!

Comment: I dont know of any other place where you can get sushi that fresh for the price that they charge. This has got to become everyones go-to place for sushi! Im absolutely sure their other food is delicious, but I got stuck on the sushi which was so good.

Comment: My wife and I were glad to see a new sushi spot open up near us and are now excited to know that we have a new go-to restaurant for takeout. We got the seaweed salad, edamame, and a few sushi rolls. The seaweed salad and edemame were the perfect fresh, healthy appetizer and the sushi was the best weve had in a long time. Looking forward to going back soon

Comment: Found out about this place today and that it’s close to home, so of course I promptly ordered for delivery. I’m so thrilled to have such flavorful sushi so close to home, there are so many delicious options. LOVED the asparagus and sweet potato rolls. The vegetable tempura is *delicious*. This place will absolutely be my go-to sushi joint!
