Comment: This is one of my favorite places in the world. Amazing sushi with fantastic vegan and vegetarian options. The happy hour prices are good. Its always a bit pricey but hey to have well sourced fish in Colorado its not unexpected. Drinks are delicious too. Highly recommend the spicy gringo, the truffle salmon, the itchy salmon, and the chicken crunch salad - but you really cant go wrong. For veggie rolls the thai hippie and the shiitake rolls are phenomenal.

Comment: Stopped here while walking 16th St. and had mixed feelings about our visit. We spent $70+tip for two ice teas. two rolls, edemame, and a veggie bowl mascarading as ceviche. The service was great, and the rolls and edemame were good, but the ceviche: meh. Portion sizes on all dishes were weak as well. There was hardly any seafood in the ceviche and pretty bland by any standard. Mostly just lightly seasoned veggies and a sprinking of tilapia and white shrimp. Since tilapia is one of the cheapest cuts of fish out there, we expected a bit more actual meat, but no. If there was jalapeño salsa and chili oil, neither I nor the wife tasted it. It was also the most expensive item we ordered at $16. So we definitely took an L there. Both their spicy gringo roll and thriller rolls were on point so it almost made up for it. Better places downtown at these prices, tho. We should have known when there was hardly anyone seated at 1 pm on a Saturday.

We come here often, but didnt realize how nationalist and militant the theme was. We will not be coming back to support. It NEEDS to be changed immediately! Comment: I love this place! My man and I come here almost every time we have a date night. It’s hard to go elsewhere when we know this will be good every time. Also, one of the only places where every drink you order taste good. Every time we come the staff is great and some of them have come to recognize us over time. It’s super sweet. Our favorite rolls are the tidal wave and the Hawaiian but we try new ones constantly as well. Crab soup is delicious. They also have the most extensive vegan sushi menu I’ve ever seen. The only thing that I wouldn’t rate 5 stars is sometimes the Hawaiian roll is different sizes. I wish it was a bit more consistent because it’s amazing and then disappointing when you come back and the roll is smaller the next time. But overall 10/10 love the atmosphere, the fish tank, almost all the servers, everything. We will be back soon! Also- definitely make a reservation. Just be courteous.

Comment: We’re visiting from NYC and had recommendations from a co-worker so we came here for lunch. Food is good but very very tiny portion. Also not authentic, the menu is very Americanized. The dishes also had no flavor. The service is okay but not outstanding while the “employee wellness fee” is charged. Just make your $18 sushi rolls more expensive. Besides that, this is more expensive than a standard sushi restaurant in New York City. Extremely unimpressed and will not recommend to anyone or come back.

Comment: Overall a good place, with AMAZING cocktails. The server was super nice, and did the best she could, but I noticed she was triple sat which delayed service and probably stressed her out. As a prior server myself, I know that can cause issues for both the server and patron. The food was good, but not worth the price paid, but to be fair, I lived in Japan for three years, and so I can be a bit picky on my nigiri - the cocktails however...worth every penny!!!Overall, a decent experience - and maybe worth a seat at the bar!

We ordered a couple of basic rolls to go with this, and discovered the nigiri options are the star (also tried the seabass nigiri). Comment: Really good sushi for being a land-locked state. The 2 rolls I got were both very good and the lunch special they offer is a good deal to. Only complaints I have are the bar seats are very uncomfortable, if they had a backrest then it would be fine, but just wood is very uncomfortable. The projector also has something splattered on it so the screen is speckled with whatever got on it. Overall a very good experience with attentive and friendly staff. If you’re in the area I’d check it out if you enjoy good sushi at a fair price.

Comment: Excellent service tonight thanks to Ashton! Food was delicious! We had the shisihito peppers, ceviche, godzilla roll, and Tataki Maki roll. Very quick service. I was particularly impressed with the shrimp tempura in the Tataki Maki roll since I dont like tempura. Tataki mako roll has eel sauce on it and I feel it might have been better with a different sauce. Im not really a fan of eel sauce but it was a delicious roll. Will be returning since their menu is quite extensive!

It was a bit pricey, but overall pretty good value.This could have been a four star experience, but I was disappointed that a waitress (who was not serving me) assumed that my cocktail was finished and took it away without asking (when I was turned away), while there were still a few sips left in it. Comment: Whoa!!!! Was introduced to this place over the weekend from a friend and whoaaa I was not disappointed in the least. I love finding a new sushi place that knows what they are doing. Everything was on point perfect with taste. Not only the sushi but holy smokes the crab soup was so delicious. I wanted more!! I am not a huge Brussel sprouts lover but my friends ordered it and now Im hooked the way they prepared it with this lemony flavor. Oh wow! The salmon belly sashimi was like melted butter in my mouth so fresh , so delicious made me so happy. The order took a little longer than expected because they were down one chef but the really nice server compensated with a free dessert..ending our meal with the fried ice cream just made it a completely perfect dinner from beginning to end. Cant wait to go back and introduce this place to others. Ohhh wait my friends are vegan and if you are vegan or no anyone that is, the selection for vegans is a huge list. Wish I ordered the Beach roll as well, since they were the smaller standard size rolls. The mango rangoons were delicious and the miso was good. We did have pretty slow service throughout the meal, but we were there for a late lunch. All and all the food was great and the staff was pleasant and friendly, just a little slow for checking in.

Comment: Went here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. We got sat pretty quickly and service was great. Our app came fast and was very yummy, but it took at least 45 minutes to get three sushi rolls. We ordered the Alaska roll, yellowtail roll, and spider roll. I have genuinely had better sushi from the grocery store. Maybe we got a bad night, but it was super disappointing for almost a $100 meal. The sushi was falling apart, poorly plated, and simply wasn’t worth the money. We really regretted not going elsewhere. The only redeeming quality was the kind service from the wait staff. A bit tricky to see in the photo, but roe is sloppily thrown on top, yellowtail roll in the back looks crumpled, and sriracha just sprayed hastily on the plate. Perhaps we slipped through the cracks on a busy night, but we won’t be coming back.

Comment: If you are going for good sushi with a variety of flavors come here. Blue sushi sake Grill had a lot of options in flavors for sushi and the option to wrap any sushi in cucumber. I generally do not go for a tempura roll, but you must get the crab tempura roll called gorilla bomb.Ambiance: 3/5In terms of ambience, I would give it a three out of five because the tables were not that great, and they can have more improvements on the set up at the restaurant to have a more sophisticated fun feel. This is a good place to go for with friends, but I wouldn’t go for a formal event, unless they improved their set up. Which is a shame because the lights are cool.Food: 5/5In terms of food, I would give it a five out of five because the sushi was very high-quality and this is coming from somebody who is from San Diego. I loved how there was lots of different options of sushi and rolls. Comment: If you’re a sushi connoisseur, pass on this place. It might be Denver, but having tried sushi in most major metros, this place fell short among other Midwest sushi joints. The bonus was the strong drinks, A+ there! While the quality was average, this would have been a 1 star review for the fact it took 35 minutes to receive 2 rolls. Any respectable sushi restaurant could have one roll out in no more than 3-5 minutes especially at the chefs counter. This was chalked up to lack of training and staff, which is also likely why the quality suffered. This is a 3 star review out of appreciation for them trying to make it right.

Comment: I love love LOVE when a place can offer a new take on a food Ive been eating for decades. The charred spicy edamame? Delicious. Worth the visit alone. I had to restrain myself from eating the pods. I had three unique and interesting rolls of vegan sushi. The concepts alone blow all the vegan sushi in my home state out of the water. The shittake to me was hands down my favorite. One of them had pineapple and was a little too on the sweet side to be balanced IMO, and the hydration mocktail was a little low on flavor, but I was still very pleased with my visit and I will go again should I ever return to Denver.

The staff were really really friendly, we went out to celebrate my cousins birthday, and when my boyfriend walked by who I believe was a manager, they asked if we were celebrating something, and he said we were celebrating a birthday and he offered to bring out some dessert for us! And when they brought it out, it was 2 full places of mochi ice cream, with all their flavors! And they even had vegan options! Comment: Blue is a really cool spot. It was very crowded but we got seated pretty quickly at a community style high top table. The service left something to be desired but that was likely because it was so busy. The menu is incredible but do not expect to find much for a person that doesnt like sushi. Definitely expensive but thats expected of good sushi in a landlocked state.

Comment: This is one of my favorite places in Denver for sushi. The service is usually great and the food is delicious. We really like the Tidal Wave, Thriller, and Crunchy L.A. rolls. The mango crab rangoons are amazing and their cocktails are great.

Comment: Pleased to find decent sushi in the land locked state of Colorado. Blue Sushi Sake is just minutes from Denvers downtown train hub and situated at along the pedestrian avenue that runs the length of the trendy little downtown shopping district.Blue has a nice subdued atmosphere, low lighting and comfy tables set the stage for large selection of sushi and prepared dishes for those not looking for raw fish.Staff was friendly and prompt, as was the food prep time. Flavors were rich and often spicy which was welcomed with the freezing temps outside.

Comment: It blew my mind that there were so many vegan options. This was a life-changing. Sushi is my favorite food, and I havent had it in 7 years because of going vegan. This was like The Best day of my Life buying all of this sushi.

Comment: Ate here on 4/2/18. All I have to say is WOW. We sat at the sushi bar table and had an incredible experience. Cat was our server who was helpful and attentive to our area. Justin was the chef working in front of us. We ordered a nice red wine (see photos) to go with our meal, I thought this red went well with this sushi we ordered. Justin surprised us with a few small pieces to try which was very nice of him. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back, fresh sushi and asian cuisine, a MUST TRY in Denver. Comment: Ive never had sushi or have been to a sushi bar. This place was such a great first experience. We were seated quickly, and our waiter Luca was very attentive. He made some great suggestions for me to try as a first time sushi eater. Id highly recommend this place and will definitely be back the next time Im visiting Denver.

Comment: We went on a Sunday evening at 8pm. There wasn’t a wait, and we sat outside. The atmosphere was pleasant inside, but not as much outside. There was a mouse scampering around the whole evening (not much the restaurant could do about that). The food was good, but not great. They were pretty skimpy on the fish, so the rolls were pretty small. Another thing we didn’t like was they forgot to bring out our miso soup, and all the food came out at different times, so we basically watched each other eat. The rolls aren’t super expensive which is nice, but I’d definitely pay a couple more bucks for better food. I wouldn’t go back here, but that’s not to say other people wouldn’t enjoy it.

Comment: If I could eat here everyday of my life I honestly would! Ive brought most of my family and even the ones who dont like sushi loved it! I dont think youll find a more beautiful, well kept, and delicious sushi place! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! The sushi tastes fresh and the service is fast and helpful. I recommend the Crunchy LA if you are a beginner and or Hotel Cali! You get your moneys worth during Happy Hour when most sushi is half priced and margaritas are $3 and a must have is the Spicy Edamame so good! Thank you staff of Blue Sushi for making every experience Ive had here amazing! 💕

Comment: This is an awesome alternative sushi place. Everything we ordered seemed original and fresh. The server was very well informed about everything on the menu. We ate here for lunch on a day when they had half off sake orders so we got a $60 bottle of sake for $30, and it was the best sake wed had. With modern decor and prompt service, we didnt feel rushed at all and in fact felt as though we could take our time and really enjoy the experience. 10/10 would go again.

Comment: Some of the best tasting sushi in Colorado, that also has an extremely fun atmosphere. They have a great modern take on sushi classic, with a very attentive staff. Their menu also includes other Japanese and Asian Fusion options. I cannot wait to go back.
