Comment: This was a last minute choice while a friend and I were in the area. Such a phenomenal find! The service was great! The serve we had was very kind and patient. She brought our appetizer quickly and the food came just as quick.The sushi rolls are HUGE! I mean for the price we paid it was a really great find. I’ve been to several sushi spots and I know what we got would have costed a whole lot more.I highly recommend this place for Sushi. You won’t be disappointed. Check the picture!

Comment: Having lived nearby for over 10 years, this was my go-to place for delicious sushi for a fair price and I still come to eat here when I visit. Its a nice, quiet location. Clean. Friendly staff and prompt service. We tried a variety of rolls and the top 3 rolls that received a deep nod of approval were the Mexican roll, Red Dragon, and the Caterpillar. If youre a drinker, highly recommend the Haiku Premium sake. It has a very, very subtle grape flavor and goes down like water.

Comment: We stopped in while waiting for a jewelry repair being done nearby. Although this place isn’t much from the outside, it is clean and has a great setup inside.We ordered a few rolls, salads, and soup. Service was quick! We had everything on our table within 12 min!The rolls were absolutely delicious!** Side note, some very demanding women came in while we were eating and gave the waiter a pretty hard time. Despite these women and their aggressive nature, this particular waiter and the rest of the staff was very patient and kind. I can’t say I would’ve held it together the way the staff did. I was thoroughly impressed with the way they handled themselves.

Comment: Having driven by here several times, we decided to stop to try this place out. So happy we did. The food was great! The rolls are large and filled with fresh ingredients. We had spicy tuna roll, asparagus roll, vegetable tempura roll and shrimp tempura roll. All were tasty and my favorite was the vegetable tempura roll. Its the veggies that are usually offered as an appetizer, done up in a sushi roll with tasty sauce on top.My dining partner also had ramen noodles. The broth and pork was tasty and done well.Service was good and the atmosphere is nice.We will definitely go back again!

Comment: I truly love, I heart Mr. Sushi. I have been a fan of this restaurant for years. There isnt anything on their menu that I dont like. But if I were to recommend my favorites I would have to say: the seafood soup is like getting a warm hug from the inside from the owner. It is loaded with seafood.Shrimp Tempora offers lots of vegetable choices and the shrimp, so sweet. Thats the love they put in their food.My favorite roll is a tie between playboy, crab rangoon, and volcano. Any of those will put a smile on my face and make my tummy dance with happiness.The only negative that I have is the cup that they serve the green tea in his too hot to handle. I have to wait for it to cool down before my delicate hands can touch the cup.Other than that one negative I will continue to keep coming. I will be happy when they open the side with the kitchen so I can watch them make sushi again.

Comment: This place is just ok. The gyoza & tamago were excellent. The sushi rolls were the issue. They had so much cream cheese it was very overwhelming. Sushi rolls should have a mix of flavors that blend well together. When I ate these rolls, they just tasted like cream cheese & nothing else. I take wasabi and mix/dissolve it in a dish of soy sauce. I then place a piece of roll flat in the soy, let it sit for a few seconds, then eat it. Even after doing that, the only thing I could taste was the cream cheese. So I added more wasabi & dipped the next piece on both sides to try and mute the strong cream cheese taste but it didnt help. It was a bit of a struggle to finish the rolls. The service is good & fast. Maybe I caught them on a bad day so Ill try again sometime. If its a better experience, Ill update my review.UPDATE: Went back. Same thing. Biting into the sushi rolls here is just like biting into a block of straight up cream cheese 🤮

Ordered my food, got home and it was wrong so I called back to let them one and the mother was rude and unprofessional. She asked if if could bring the food back and she took it. So unsanitary but that’s not the half of it. Once she took the bag of food to the back she opened the container and WITH HER BARE HANDS placed the sushi into the batter to be fried. Omg. I asked her if she could remake my food and put on gloves and she grew irate. Yelling at me once I told her she was being unsanitary and was going to report her to the better business bureau. This place is unprofessional and unsanitary.

Comment: I will admit I have not been to every sushi place in the STL area but, I have been to many. By FAR I love Mr. Sushi is my absolute favorite. There is nothing fancy about this place. It is casual and in a strip mall no frills. The sushi is FANTASTIC! The rolls are big, the seafood is fresh and my taste buds sing every time I go here. My heart starts to race as I walk In the door because I know that I am in for a wonderful taste experience!

I feel like they should include a small salad with their signiture rolls. $20 for one roll and soda is a little too much for me to eat there regularly. They serve an 8oz bottled soda. It barely fills the glass and no refills. Please get a fountain drink dispenser or at least serve 12 or 16 size of bottles. I should be able to walk away full and satisfied. It would cost me $30 to do that there. Although I do think thier sushi is the best in town I dont go there super hunger because of my budget. It is a treat for me to go there.

Comment: Meh...You know your not in a good place when a sushi restaurant relies on a MICROWAVE to function and the fish isn’t fresh...We started with sashimi and house salad which was good but we also ordered spicy baby octopus salad... they forgot. I watched one of the chefs grab a small plastic wrapped chunk out of the freezer, unwrap it, toss it IN THE MICROWAVE and bring it to our table. Unfortunately the octopus was still frozen solid. They also keep the sake in a plastic measuring cup which they reMICROWAVE every time we ordered more sake. The rolls are absolutely huge but stuffed with mostly “crabstick” which I confirmed with the waitress was imitation crab. Tasted like it was from a grocery store package... yuck. The Tiger roll had tempura “calamari” in it. No way...they denied it was anything other then fresh calamari but you could clearly see it wasnt, if not imitation the definitely frozen. Service was ok. They did take the octopus and tiger roll off our bill. Seems they rely on the microwave for cooking and freezer for storing “fresh” ingredients. Save yourself and drive a few blocks east, amazing sushi there!!!!!

Parking is free but I always recommend going on their less busy times because the parking is shared with other businesses and can get full. They have a single bathroom (unisex). Very good chop sticks and plate ware. The lighting is not overbearing and compliments the wall decor. The staff are very professional.My only complaint is that their main menu is somewhat lacking. The menu is split between two menus (one is a specials menu). The specials menu is very good and has a lot of work put into it. The regular menu is very plain and has a lack of pizazz.

We have gone to several sushi restaurants and none can compare to this one. Where other places overcharge with smaller portions, this restaurant will give you exactly what youre paying for and much more. The fish is fresh, cut properly and melts in your mouth. This family also is able to obtain rare ingredients, such as Uni, which can fill your rich palette. Although this restaurant is small and is considered to be a whole in the wall they can be considered one of the best sushi restaurants in Missouri. After we picked a table to sit at, the waitrees tookour order and brought us water upon request. The water glasses we received were filthy, but the miso soup was actually tasty. She apologized to them, let them keep our food they received in error and brought them correct order. Never did she apologize to us for their mistake or offer some sort of compensation for the long wait and the torture of having to watch another table eat our food right in front of us. When I asked her about it, she said it was not her fault, but the cooks fault and we got our food. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said neither one of them owned the place. At this point I was getting upset so I went ahead and paid the bill, but let her know I was not happy, would not be back and would be leaving a bad review. The food was not bad, but Ive had better from the local supermarket.Question: Is it normal for the cook to walk in the front door with a fishing poll in hand and 3 buckets of fish he just caught? The decor is fine but not great, but I like the kind of small, hole-in-the-wall feeling. It gives the place character. The important thing is the food and the service, and I think both are fantastic. Id rather drive from Ballwin to Mr. Sushis than eat at the about par sushi places out West.

Comment: Mr Sushi is awesome, and I seem to be heading there for lunch and dinner more and more. The food is fresh the rolls are always great. It can be a little pricy, but worth every penny. I recommend it all the time. I love Mr. Sushi!!

Comment: Tried three specialty rolls on a first visit, and was wowed by all three. Very friendly, perfectly happy to let you sit at your table after dinner and chat (even for ages!), and excellent, inventive sushi. Try the pizza and tsunami rolls--if you like spicy foods, the tastes in these are fantastic.
