The surface is always fast, amazing and courteous and continuously checks upon you.And the sushi is some of the best in the area by far. Has been consistently amazing for at least a handful of years now.Will always go there and stop by when I drive through the area. As it is a must.

Comment: Food is awesome. I had the (house) spicy tuna roll and salmon rolls. The problem was the service. It was slow. Looked like they only had one or two people cooking. There were 9 of us having dinner and we had several plates come out very late. They were apologetic about it but don’t expect quick in and out bite to eat. I do highly recommend the sushi and sashimi.

They were friendly and the sushi was very delicious.However, the unfortunate thing is that I gave the tip in cash, but the payment without the tip was canceled from the card, and then the payment with the tip was included twice, so I gave the tip in cash and also with the card, and almost 80,000 won was paid in tip price alone.I think there was a mistake, but Im already in Korea and its inconvenient to contact and cancel, so Im just leaving a review.I plan to visit again next year.Food and other things were very good

My mother’s friend (who has discriminate tastes) was eating this last week and it’s her favorite. It looked so good that my mother and I wanted to try it- and we were so glad we did! Comment: When I first walked into Ichiban Sushi Bar, I was immediately greeted by a homely, humble atmosphere. Japanese fans lined the ceiling while a single waitress bustled around the small dining room of 15 tables. After deliberating over the lengthy maki menu (and I mean deliberating!) and deciding on the mango shrimp tempura, the crazy roll, the rainbow roll, and the salmon avocado roll, I learned that the young waitress taking my order was the sushi chef’s daughter, while the other older waitress was the chef’s wife.The traditional Japanese way of sushi preparation proved to be successful - the sushi I experienced was nothing short of the best sushi I had ever had. The thick slices of fish on the rainbow roll were mouthwateringly fresh, exposing hidden flavors as they melted in my mouth. The crab mixture was white and savory, rather than the dry stringy red “supermarket” style of crab found in other sushi restaurants like Wasabi. The rice was the perfect texture - not too hard but not gummy or soft. The mango shrimp tempura quickly became one of my favorite rolls, as the freshly fried shrimp blended perfectly with the sweet mango, which did not have the sour after-taste found in many frozen mango slices. The salmon avocado roll further proved the superiority of Ichiban’s fish. The thick slices of avocado seemed perfectly ripe as well, a rare occurrence at other sushi restaurants in Saint Louis (mainly Wasabi). I think the clear winner of the four rolls was the crazy roll. This roll was so stuffed that I had to take two bites to finish each piece. What’s even more crazy than the crazy roll itself? It had the ability to actually make me full from a sushi meal, which is something I never thought possible until Ichiban.So what did I learn from this experience? Your favorite sushi restaurant is making sushi wrong. This is how sushi is supposed to be: thick slices of fresh fish, fresh ingredients, and stuffed rolls.

Very traditional for a sushi restaurant so it makes you feel comfortable if you’re from out of town looking for a great sushi spot. Comment: I went on a Saturday night which was very quiet. I got nigiri which was large pieces of fish but not quite the same sized ball of rice but it was still delicious. They had more to chose from for nigiri than I have seen before at a sushi place. Service was good, there seemed to be only two workers there but that didnt slow down any service. As you can tell from the picture, I had a monster sized roll which was sooooooo good. I will definitely be returning.

Comment: By far the best sushi Ive had in St. Louis. The house spicy roll is fantastic with a homemade smokey sauce (thicker than sauce really, mashed chilis and other ingredients I think). Everything was perfect though and they dont skimp on the fish.

Comment: Typically, I attend the lunch crowd and with each time, I am disappointed by the slow service and average cuisine. The staff consist of 2 members, which isnt idea for the lunch rush in Creve Couer. When I recieve my meal its time to return to work.I guess an hour long wait isnt enough time for them to service. Wouldnt recommend the place for any attire unless youd want a tarnished reputation.

Comment: They have the freshest fish in St. Louis. many weekends, they have fresh toro (fatty tuna), uni (from Japan) live scallops, Spanish Mackerel, jumbo clam, live surf clam, and sea bream. They also have great unique specialty rolls including their Fire roll, flying dragon and others. Their fish pieces are also the largest I have received in St. Louis. I highly recommend them to the sushi connoiseur.

Comment: The badmisso was really salty didnt have much flavor. The place was really slow but still took a long time. I didnt care much for the smoky house spicy roll was off for me. The Tako sashimi was ok but wouldnt order it again. Lastly the sushi bar was a mess even though they were slowThe goodthe normal spicy roll was pretty decent. I like the jalapeño roll but was almost to much for me.

Comment: Ive lived in many places and moved in this area about a year ago. Didnt know this place existed until just now. Out of all the places Ive lived, this little sushi bar has some of the best sushi Ive ever had (Not an exaggeration). It may be small, but its definitely somewhere to go if your looking for good food. even non-sushi items they have were on par. Id recommend going here for anyone that loves japanese food.

Comment: This place has excellent sushi. Their miso soup is also just fantastic.Service is almost without fail spot on and friendly. It can get a little hectic for the one waitress during lunch, but shes generally on top of it, and Ive never found myself looking at my watch wondering whats going on.Ive eaten here more times than I can count at this point, so I will simply say check it out. You wont regret it.
