Comment: Warning: ⚠️ DO NOT GO IF YOURE STARVING! It may be a few hours before you actually eat. Even after making a reservation. We made a reservation, waited past that time— which is normal here; you can’t rush what they do, I get that. But, after we finally sat we had to sit and watch others eat around us who came after us and said they didn’t have a reservation…. I mean we watched their whole meal being made and watched them eat it before our person finally came. We were just hungry and angry. Lbvs It’s hard for me to enjoy myself once I’m angry. But it’s hard not to here, so we still had a good time.

The portions of food are worth the price but the flavor definitely isn’t, was not impressed with the food at all. The ginger dressing was thick ginger mush, the steak was juicy but not flavorful, nor was any of the other food from the grill. The only thing that was actually really good were the rangoons.

A group as small as 6 will have an 18percent tip added to your bill. We were seated about 40 minutes after our reservation. Dont come starving. The amount of food in your doggie bag will likely be substantial.

Comment: Buyer beware! Restaurant has arbitrary policy regarding large groups. While one month ago my group of five did not get the 18% surcharge, tonight my group of four did. When asked the manager kept saying usually we charge it, usually but admitted that they dont always. He directed us to the clearly posted sign regarding the policy. We asked the hostess to point out the sign. After she got on the floor and dug under her desk and could not find it, we asked for the manager again. He shrugged and said that if the server trusts the customer they may not charge it.We are really disappointed as this was a favorite of our family.

Comment: I give bar service 1 star because of the bartender that was serving around 9:30pm November the 18th with blonde hair kind of young looking. She looked me in my face and asked the brown hair lady if she needed something done since there’s no drinks to serve. The brown hair lady had to tell her to serve me. Then my friend walked up and she walked passed her also and it took the brown hair lady to ask if she wanted a drink. The place is great and that was my first time this has happened to me and normally they are great when it comes to customer service.

Comment: I had a girls night and we booked for dinner, the service was great food was also so thats not my issue. My issue is you could be having such a good time and not look at your receipt and just consciously pay whatever it is that is says but next time you book look at the receipt because the initial one they bring out have totally different numbers from the one you sign it happened last night and it seemed a little off to me so I just want to warn everyone else. Especially if you book with 8-9 people, paying gratuity is fine but they tax it so it’s an additional 10.52 on everyone’s bill which on the receipt it states 18% is only 9.90. Then the copy you sign it changes but at that time you already swiped your card so you don’t know how much they took until you open your account.

Comment: On 9/2/2023, had reservations for 7:15 & & 7:30 seating. There were a total of 17 in the party. After waiting for an opening that would accommodate the total party. Which was a nice jester on behalf of Kobe. With this size of a party we had two different chefs.One was extremely outgoing and the other one came out as if he really did not want to be there or he was in training. His inter- action with our side, was limited. His cooking abilities remain to be seen, it was awful. Rice not cooked thoroughly nor the noodles. Most of the meet and vegetables were over cooked. He was not using the right amount of oil of any kind or seasoning. Nor did he fill the sauce dishes or ask anyone if they would like to have some.He was sloppy in the way he served the food. It was all around the steam table, and he never attempt to remove any of it. His behavior was as if you were giving food to an animal, literally.Im writing this review simply because I know how the chefs are required to make your experience delightful. They are embracing and seem to enjoy what they do. Besides it was not my first time there and no one on my side was pleased with their meal nor the service. It was a spoiler and we were celebrating a birthday.:( :( :(

The server was attentive and explained the menu. The main course came with complimentary soup and salad. The soup is made out of meat stock, so being vegetarian, i could not enjoy it. The ginger salad dressing was wonderful. The chef made the experience enjoyable. The portions are large and we enjoyed our visit to Kobe. Be prepared to come on an empty stomach!!

Comment: This was my first experience with a hibachi style restaurant, and I really enjoyed it. Having said that, Im not sure how this compares to other similar establishments. I can say that the waitress was pleasant and attentive and the show and interaction with the chef was really fun. My wife and I both had the Komasan (filet mignon and shrimp). The other member of our party got the teriyaki steak. We all agreed that the food was great. Be sure to try the yum-yum sauce.

They add 18% gratuity to every bill regardless of party size. If you pay by card, they bring you back the one with no line items, only a total (that already includes that 18%), a line for you to write the tip (not additional tip), and a line for you to write the grand total. So if you dont pay attention and tip like average, then you are actually tipping more than 40%

You each get a soup, salad, vegetables, rice, noodles, filet, lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and mushrooms. For us, $90 for all of this is a great deal! We always have leftovers. The staff were having a great time, at the expense of attending to customers. I had a hard time getting my Wife another cocktail and my ice tea was empty and ignored for over half the meal. Our table had a difficult customer, so chef was kinda off game, and we were there for 90 minutes. My Wife was asked once if she wanted another drink... Thats crazy. I wasnt asked about my iced tea until I had the waitress called over for my Wife. The chef didnt get all the ingredients and called for help a half a dozen times, no one came. He called for security multiple times (jokingly, but still) no one came. The food was on the grill and he was straight up alone. Was crazy, like were spending $30+/person for awesome chef and sub-Chiles support staff. They later forgot my whole entrée, was quickly fixed but it was a feel bad as my tenderloin didnt look any different than the people who ordered the combo plates. My Daughter liked the cake. The people next to us ordered the calamari and it came as a single burger like patty, which is not how I wished my calamari would look like.

Comment: The family celebrated my grandsons 10th birthday and he really enjoyed himself. Please note, this was NOT his first time there, so kudos to you. However, we had a couple of concerns. We noticed the difference between the amount of food being served at our table vs the table across from ours, which was a lot less. That means, as a family, we received less food... NOT GOOD! My second concern was once the bill came I noticed the gratuity was more than it shouldve been! It was for 20%, not 18% as noted on our tickets! The server FAILED to mention the gratuity, therefore, additional money was given, which was so unfair to my family members. Plus the amount of gratuity was calculated after tax NOT before, which Im sure is illegal.

Comment: I’ve been there twice in a month. The food the first time was ok at best. I ordered a filet mignon (medium) and shrimp. The steak was well done and the shrimp were rubbery. The second time, a couple of days ago, the food was pretty good but the steak was well done again. I will not be going back. The prices are outrageous for the quality of the food. It was as though instead of trying to assure a good experience for our family they were dismissive and inconsiderate. Also, we paid to have picture and dessert for our mom and did not receive service. I was in the other room and did not find out until after we left. Plus they charged one member of our party and extra $100 on their card that was not reflected on their bill but on the credit statement and is to be returned. We were robbed financially and in experience. Finally the Hibachi experience was okay my husbands mouth was burned from hot shrimp being thrown in his mouth, our cook informed us the waiter was not giving good service and timing was off people had eaten the rice before protein was ready and protien before noodle was ready and only one sauce provided upon request versus being made readily available and the food tastes better after I brought it home and added more seasoning to it. All considered I would not recommend. My kids would call me a Karen for leaving this feedback but I dont care 🤦🏽‍♀️.

They charged us almost $20 just to exchange.. Comment: I have been in the customer service industry for 17 years and currently hold a district manager position. I say this so you know Im not your typical patron or Karen. I understand the challenges that come with the current employment environment in customer service as well. This was, unfortunately, one of the worst customer service experiences Ive had, and there was no reason. The hosts were not busy or short staffed. When we came to Kobe, there were four hostesses that were carrying on personal conversations as we stood there for several minutes waiting to be acknowledged. We asked if we could put our names in for dinner but wanted to sit in the bar area, not the grill area. This would have been a great opportunity to communicate that there is a limited menu in the bar area, but they didnt. They took our names and said it would be 45 minutes. We waited 40 minutes when we got our text that our table was ready. One of the hosts walked us back to a grill table. At that point, we asked her if we could sit in the bar at a regular table for dinner. She said yes and to seat ourselves (another opportunity to tell us the bar menu is limited). When we got back up to the bar area, she was nowhere to be found, and we were never given menus. After waiting 20 minutes, I went back up to the host stand to ask for menus and to place an order. Again, three hosts carried on personal conversations and couldnt be bothered with a customer standing right in front of them. I finally got tired of standing there and asked for a menu, and if we could order food and pointed to our table. We are now over an hour into this experience when the host finally told me we could only order drinks and appetizers in the bar area. We left and went to an amazing restaurant in Chesterfield. I highly recommend having a serious coaching conversation with the four hosts that worked Saturday night. This was our first and only time here. We will not be back, but Id hate for someone else to have the same experience.

Comment: Our experience at Kobe Steakhouse was absolutely horrendous. Our party made a reservation for 7:30pm and we did not get to sit until 9:30pm. We were then rushed out of the restaurant before we were fully able to finish our meal. The manager never explained the no reservation policy they had. We made our reservation three weeks in advance and arrived an hour early for our reservation. The manager let other diners who were walk ins sit and eat before all of us as we waited patiently in the lobby for over two and half hours. The waiters only checked on us once during the meal and made jokes and crude remarks to rush us out after bringing boxes and checks immediately after the chef finished cooking- leaving us no time to finish our food. This reservation was for a very special occasion and the service we experienced was extremely heartbreaking. The manager was nonchalant, apathetic, and unapologetic about his mistake the entire time and did not offer any solace while our party was there. He continued to make excuses as to why our party could not sit as walk in diners poured in and were directed to their tables swiftly. The manager/management at Kobe Steakhouse and other staff were very inhospitable and treated us very poorly. The restaurant closes at 8:30pm and we did not leave until 11pm after being rushed out. We tried not to let this ruin our celebration- as it was a very special night, however it certainly put a damper on the mood. I would not recommend going to this restaurant if you are expecting swift and kind service. It was a terrible experience. For the respect and patience our party showed, the crudeness, disrespect, and apathy shown toward our party was not deserved. I wish I could have spent my hard earned money somewhere else.

The staff did not do a good job of keep everyone informed of when they would be seated. I believe there were too many immature young adults that worked there that haven’t had the proper training. Hence if you’re short staff inform the customers about what’s going so everyone will have an idea of what’s going on. Not that we got seats two hrs later we sat another 45 min before our chef made it to the table. The server I had did not bring the steamed rice to the table like the chef had asked. He had to ask another associate to grab the rice for my daughter. I believe Kobe Japanese restaurant is overbooking and more concerned about the revenue and not giving customers a good quality experience. It’ll be a longtime before I return back to Kobe’s.

They said sit over there at that table, did not even take us to the table once we were seated they said others would be seated at the table and we would have to move. My boyfriend had to go to the bar to get our partys drinks because no one ever came to ask. Once seated it was another 45 min before the cook even came to the table. The restaurant closed at 10. We are way passed that now. We finally got the food to eat at 11 and they immediately brought boxes and bags for the food along with checks because the restaurant was now closed. Are you kidding me? Each check had an 18% gratuity added. The hostess was rude as hell. I would not recommend nor will I ever patronize this restaurant again. Customer service is what gets ppl in your doors.

Comment: My family will not be returning. it has gone downhill. We have gone here every year for family birthday dinner for the last decade and it gets worse each year. A few years ago i left a review of how much i enjoyed this place but it seems ever since it moved locations its been very unpleasant.The dining rooms are crowded you cannot hear your own table.There is always a super long wait, even with reservations. My reservation was at 745 and the chef did not start cooking at our table till around 9:20. We didnt leave till past 10. I was also very uncomfortable that they required a credit card to make a reservation.They never brought us or the surrounding parties booster seats for the toddlers, i ended up searching the resturant myself after asking twice, and putting my son in a dirty booster seat i found at an abandoned table.They overbook the restaurant constantly. They tried to make us squeeze 6 adults into into a spot with room for only 4 plates and tried to overseat another family near us who also complained. When us and some of the other parties complained about having to basically sit on top of one another they brushed it off and said it was just part of communal dining.We have gone here for so long and they always had 8 to a table, not 11 people to a table. They offered no apologies or discounts for the encounter either. The waitress and chef were both very good but it didnt feel even close to worth all the trouble.Its a shame the food is so good but not worth the trouble or the price.

Comment: This Kobe is located in a shared building, which is a little offputting to some, but the interior is actually very nice, perfect for a business setting or an important date. I indulged in the shogun dinner(around 65 with tip and tax) which involved some of the freshest and tenderest shrimp, lobster, wagyu, and other meats. The hibachi chefs are very talented and know how to put on an unforgettable show. The meals themselves taste pretty average, but coupled with the freshness of the ingredients and the experience, make Kobe a great place for dinner. Service is great but expect a wait if you didnt make a reservation beforehand.

Comment: I am very disappointed in experience. I planned for my family and friends to meet me at Kobe’s to celebrate my 39th birthday for a 7:30pm for a party of 13. Prior to making the reservation, I read their policy online website to make sure I had all the information I need before booking my reservation. Their policy online states, “At Kobe we strongly encourage making reservations for your dining experience, however a reservation is not a guaranteed seating time. It is an order of seating guarantee at an estimated time based on our normal reservation flow giving your party preference over walk-in customers.” With that thought in mind, I book my reservation 3 weeks in advance for 7:30pm, but tell my guests out reservation is 6:30 since I know there are some who will run late. Day of event, I arrive at 6:35 greet the hostess, tell her about my reservation and asked me of my whole party has arrived I say no. She states we can’t seat you until you whole party arrives. I agree and waiting for the remainder of the guests to arrive. By 6:45 everyone was present except one person so I let the hostess know my full party was present and she hands be a buzzer. By 7pm, all of my guests were present. Again, this a 7:30pm reservation and my guests are all on time. Understanding that there is no guarantee we will not be seated at 7:30pm, we will be given priority over walk in guests. By 8:30, I have watch several large parties come and go, in addition to several people smaller parties walk in with a limited wait be seated. At 9:15 I ask the hostess do we know how much longer it will be she states you are next to be seated. At this point, I’m hungry but still hopeful. By 9:45, about half of my guests have left. I got to the hostess and ask again as I believe my wait is way too excessive and can we at least sit it the bar area to order which she states that is not possible for the full experience. She states since i have a larger party it takes more time to be seated. I agree but I tell her that have of my party is gone now. Manager hears the conversation and says “you’re the party of 13 and half of your guests have left” I say yes…I am a party of 8. He apologies for the long wait and say he would seat us shortly. At this point, I see the policy in the restaurant that states, “if a patron is late their reservation will adjust put on the bottom of the waiting list.” Fifteen minutes later, i ask the hostess again and she states the table seat 26 people and we have to make sure all seats are filled to accommodate the experience with the chef. Manager then comes to seat my party and apologizes again but now I’m getting upset because i realize that the reason why we being waiting so long is because they were trying to fill a whole other side with a different chef when my side originally already had 13 people. So I’m thinking things would be great from here. Nope! We wait another 25 minutes after being seated before we are even offered water or menus. As a disclaimer, I hate complaining at restaurants because more do what they can but I would rather reflect my unhappiness in my tip. The young lady who was our server was PHENOMENAL. Even with the good food my experience was worse because the general manager (non-black)send another “manager” (who is black) over to handle me. I ask the question, your policy states what happens if the patron is late but what happens if you don’t uphold your end as a business. After several minutes of foolishness. Someone attempted to adjust the bill but by taking the young lady’s tip. I’m leaving out a lot of unfair treatment on my end but at this point I want to make sure she get her money. I have her go take the receipt to correct the bill again and we still each tip her 30%. This is very disappointing because it made me miss my next location where I lost $600 on a VIP booth with bottle service downtown. So I lost out all around and on my birthday!!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!

We only wish the second half of our 15 person group (the last fam of 5) would have been able to join us at our table. They werent there when our buzzer went off 45 min after our reservation time, so instead another random group was sat at our table and they had to decide to wait to eat with strangers instead of with our (bday) party or to go. Not much you can do with those though.The vegetables were just ok, nothing special at all.There was no show, the cook just cooked.The bar area ia messy, unorganized, and loud.There are no decorations, so the ambient is too boring.I really expected and experience. Comment: I really enjoyed my first experience here last week ! I’m originally from a small town, was in St. Louis visiting some friends and family. We decided to try this place out , although we did have to wait awhile but it was not that much of a big deal. The decor was pretty nice and good lighting to take pictures. Leslie was so friendly to all of us. She took all our photo on my phone. She also sat us with with Karen. The whole table loved her, she was informative of all that came with the meal and what her favorite drinks and appetizers were. She asked what we were celebrating but we weren’t just trying something new. The main show though was TYSON he was so funny and entertaining BUT the food was so good! I got the Teriyaki Shrimp with extra side of salmon! It was so delicious, l really enjoyed him performance show! The drink I got was also good it was on fire . I can’t remember the name but order it you won’t be disappointed! We felt like royalty lol the service was amazing! I’ll be back personally. Thanks everyone!

We were given a plethora of excuses to why we couldnt be seated. 1- no room 2- cleaning the table 3- we are next 4- trying to sit us together 5- cleaning the table again. I honestly can understand being behind however the managers attitude was terrible (may 7 2022). The customer service was the absolute worst. We had a party of children who were forced to eat after 10 pm. The best thing about our experience was a man named Marvin who was kind, courteous, attentive, and patient. Marvins attitude was the only reason we even stayed to eat. Truth is, I will NOT visit this place again. Some empathy, compensation, and or honesty would have made a world of difference. Lobes Westport you dropped the ball in a major way on this one.

I’ve been in the habit of ordering the filet for my entree and remaining satisfied with my shrimp appetizer for a number of years, but I finally decided that the shrimp is simply too good to settle for just a few. This time I ordered the Komasan under “Specialties” (filet and shrimp combo), and I’ll probably be ordering this from now on. Soooooo good. (The foil seems petty but we were expecting at least some class from this establishment). Hopefully it was just a weird night for them but the entire experience was very disappointing to say the least.

We checked several times & theyre favorite words are 15minutes, 5 minutes. Its been a dang hour & were still not seated. I understand the RSVP doesnt guarantee time to seat, but I also understand it shouldnt take a darn hour! Im no longer hungry at this point. Its ridiculous! We had reservations for 4:30pm and didn’t get seated until 5:15ish. Once seated it took another 15 minutes before our server came to take our orders but he ended up being a nice young man. He took our orders and started bringing out the complementary soup and salad that comes with your entree. Neither of these dishes were anything close to the quality they used to be. The soup had a very intensely bitter taste and the salad that used to be so simple yet elegant was cheap and floating in watery dressing. We had a party of 5 and no one could stomach the soup or salad. It took another 30 minutes for the “chef” to finish another table before he got to our table. The chef barely cooked or seasoned any of the vegetables, the quality of the “dipping” sauces was poor as well ( especially the spicy mustard sauce ). I really hate to have to complain about what used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I know I won’t be going back.

Comment: Bartender Mandy was very knowledgeable and took care of us during our short wait before the table was ready. The show they put on while making the food is always entertaining and fun. The filet was tender, shrimp was delicious and the chicken was also very good! Definitely go for the fried rice!

Comment: Really enjoyed this location, my only complaint is the wait time, even with reservations, which you need on a busy Saturday, there was a wait. But once seated, the food and service was great! Great presentation, moderately priced, you get a lot of food. I will most definitely go back, just not on a Saturday night.

Comment: Love the presentation and corny jokes. Food has always been great no matter what we choose. Its been awhile since we visited last and we wanted to try the new location.Compared to the old location, I do miss as the mini fountain, the yin/yang vibe and the little bridge. New decor is more modern feeling as are the prices. Still a lot of food for the price but my wallet did sting a little afterwards.

Comment: Amazing experience! Depending on what you order, you don’t even need an appetizer. We went for a date night and got sooo much food! I got shrimp and scallops which came with a light soup, and a salad. Plus you get vegetables too. I couldn’t finish it all so I go a to go plate. Great food and our cook was funny and entertaining! Definitely recommended and I can’t wait to go back!

Comment: This visit was excellent! Went here for my birthday with my family and everyone ate good, laughed hard, and enjoyed the show of our food being cooked Japanese style. My kids got a kick out of the huge flames rising from the grill. Always a great time when I come here.

Comment: Me and my family drove almost two hours to eat here for a birthday celebration. We made a reservation for 5:30pm and showed up at 5:10pm. We were given a buzzer and told to enjoy a seat at the bar or on the couch lining the walls while we wait. We went back right at 5:30pm. The waitress took our drink and food orders along with the 4 others we were happily placed with. A few moments later the Chef arrived and it was show time! He greeted us all and started go crazy with his tools!!! Granted one spatula slipped out his hand and went flying in between 2 people. No one got hurt and he showed sincere worry and made sure everyone was okay before continuing. He was amazing to watch and he was very good at what he does! The food was amazing. It is a little expensive but the quality of food mixed with the entertainment made it very much worth it!! About $30 a person is what we spent. We loved this place so much that we will be defiantly making the 2 hour drive again just to re live the experience! The chef was amazing, the portions where out standing, the food was delicious, and next time ill have to try the saké and stay in the hotel right next to it! I hope this review helps you make the decision to go and try this place out, i promise you will not regret it!! P.s. sorry for not the best photos and not more, the food was to amazing to focus on my phone!

Comment: I took my wife and kids there and we all had a great experience. The view from the 12th story is a nice feature and the decor is calming and well done. The staff were all accommodating and always friendly. The hibachi cook was very personable and his skills were on point. The food was delicious. They start by bring soup and salad to all. Im not a fan of most asian soups, but the salad is good. I ordered the hibachi shrimp, kids ordered the chicken, and the wife ordered the steak. We all had fried rice, vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles with our entrees. We all shared tastes and I was most impressed with the shrimp followed by the fillet steak. They make you several meals worth of food and we all had to take leftovers home. They have a decent drink menu and I recommend the blue raspberry saki. Purists may not approve of my fruity chilled saki, but I could not get enough. Have no fear, though, they do offer warm saki as well. We havent tried desserts there yet, but if the other parts of the menu provide any clues, Im sure they are delightful. Pull the trigger and go, the showy cooking makes the meal that much more fun.

Comment: I like the food here its just its confusing. First of all they let you know a long wait time and that seems like its discouraging. Then my server seem like she couldnt hear us. Their Rewards program is different from the other Kobe Rewards so I couldnt use my $10 off coupon but to end this all on a good note the food here taste great and our chef Nero was the best weve ever had since coming to Kobes here and in Orlando if he ever decides to come to Orlando I I would come to Kobes every week
