Comment: We literally just left here celebrating my daughter’s 25th birthday. Stacy was our server. He was great, had an amazing sense of humor and was always aware of everything that was needed at our table. The food was beyond amazing. Prices were perfect and the happy hour menu is beyond perfect. There’s a huge selection and plenty to go around!!!We definitely will be back!

Comment: Shiso is our go to sushi spot in the west of Denver area. Overall great for takeout or sit down, not too many places this far from the ocean that have raw fish this good. Plus their staff are awesome, weve have Justin as a server a few times and hes always on it. He even helped steer us to a sake that is now a regular in our rotation.

Pretty much mushy “crunch” with salmon rolled up inside the roll and it really made it hard to eat because of the texture. The golden scallop roll sounded like it could be delicious but was also meh. Went with two safe bets - the spider roll and sashimi roll. Those were standard, you can get them at any sushi restaurant.

The oysters were the worst oysters I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten grocery store oysters before. They tasted like they were spoiled, they were creamy tasting. I was legit afraid I was going to get food poisoning. Oh and they were the smallest oysters I’ve ever seen. Just don’t eat them! Other reviews who tried then got sick so I’m pretty sure they are bad quality or just old. The sushi was oddly warm, even the one without fried shrimp. It just did not sit right to me. I would definitely recommend finding a different sushi place.

Perhaps that would seem different if one was dining in. I thought that the spider and unagi rolls were particularly tasty, as was the yellowtail with scallions.

I have gone to many coastal restaurants that serve sushi and none of them compare to Shiso sushi bar! They also have some nice non-fish items such as the teriyaki chicken bowl, my friend had ordered that before and it was really good!They truly are one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. They take extra precaution for cleanliness, customer service and quality of their food and I appreciate that so much!I often times will order their food to go as well and it always is a hit! Their dining service is nice as well and there is quite a bit of parking which is always a convenient addition to any restaurant. The owner Ken is a great guy and always remembers us and truly appreciates his customer base. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and like I said it’s one of my favorites! It’s also very close to Sloans Lake which is the perfect activity to do before dining in, check them out!

Comment: As a previous frequent to-go customer of this restaurant, I was disappointed enough on this past visit to never return.I am a delivery driver for GrubHub, and received a pick up order for this restaurant today. I am also 8 months, and very visibly pregnant. When I arrived, I walked in, stated I had an order to pick up, but needed to use the bathroom first. The worker I said this to told me that delivery drivers are not allowed to use their facilities because they usually make huge messes.Not only did I feel shamed and embarrassed for the work I am trying to do to make extra money for when my baby arrives, because I am obviously part of a group of awful people who make huge messes, but I am also the customer by-proxy. Without the customer ordering food, I would not be there.Delivery drivers struggle every day with these sorts of policies. Where are they expected to relieve themselves, if not in the public restrooms of the restaurants they are visiting during their shifts? This is a terrible policy for this restaurant to have in place, and a terrible way to treat those who enter your business.

Comment: Worst sushi and takeout experience of my life. I wish I was exaggerating. That was terrible. Tuna was clearly dyed. The Philly Roll was by far the worst. There was almost no salmon in the roll, and there was a huge chunk of some cheap industrial tasting cream cheese in it. Couldn’t taste the salmon at all. It was a mouthful of cream cheese and rice. That’s not to mention they sell the smallest rolls I’ve ever seen at any sushi restaurant. Spent more than $80 for two people and we were still hungry. I’ve never had a bad experience at a sushi restaurant, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend if you have a fraction of a taste bud. I really hate to leave a bad review but this was atrocious.

Their rolls are tight and bite size so there is no struggling with a loose roll that is too big to fit in your mouth. Everything is always incredibly fresh. They have great lunch and happy hour specials. One thing that really set this place apart for me is that as a vegetarian, I have not once gotten sushi with roe all over it. That is my biggest complaint about other places I have been to. While their vegetarian selection is not huge it is definitely quality over quantity. They even have vegetable gyoza! They also have an incredible lunch deal on a vegan lunch special with five sashimi pieces, a full avaocado roll, miso soup, and salad for $8.50! You really can’t beat it. The staff is wonderful, and always oblige my Aussie BF with a fork when we walk in the door. The sushi is simply fantastic, even if you are picky about your fish! Make sure to try one of the crunch rolls- simple but delicious.

Comment: Unpretentious place. Simple decor. Well lit. Friendly servers.We dropped by for HH. Its an excellent place for this purpose. The HH menu was loaded. Fresh fish. Well presented rolls and good size.My favorite of all time Saba (mackerel ) was fresh and the portion was respectable.The guys shared some hot sake while I stuck to water. HH price I think was $4 or $5 an order. If you share share a $35 large order of a few different things you will be full. We were.Fast service and we were in and out of there in a flash. I will be back!

Comment: We’ve had take out sushi and eat in sushi, but my experience here doesn’t extend far beyond their specialty rolls. The seaweed salad is great. The golden scallop roll is one of my faves. The lobster roll was good, but nothing to write home about. The jazz roll was also top notch, peppery. One of our new fave sushi places! 😍🍣

Comment: This is a great spot for a romantic dinner or a outing with friends. I went with a group of 6 and got seated immediately. Rolls come out all together on a large plate which can sometimes be confusing if everyone orders something specific, but the presentation is beautiful. Servers did a great job with us and were very attentive. Definitely a go to spot for some delicious sushi.

The cream cheese was a little heavy on a couple of the rolls for my taste, I would have liked to see a little bit more me and there but aside from that pretty solid sushi. Comment: Shiso has become our go-to sushi spot since moving back to Denver. The happy hour deals are what keep us coming back consistently, but the service and ambiance are excellent; exactly what we are looking for in a sushi restaurant.The chefs greet you when you walk in the door. This is a great way to start the experience. Although the seating can be a little tight at times, its not overly cramped or uncomfortable by any means.Fish quality is fantastic. Weve never had doubts about whether or not something was fresh or questionable. As you frequent sushi eaters know, only one instance of this at a sushi spot will have you doubting their entire operation. This far, we have been very pleased.Keep up the good work Shiso! We will see you again soon.

Comment: First time here after a nice walk at Sloans, we were seated very quickly. Food came pretty quick after we ordered. Fried calamari seemed fresh and dipping sauce was delicious. My friend and I agreed the spicy crunchy tuna and salmon was nicely crunchy, roll was small but the amount we got seemed perfect. Lettuce for the salad wasnt my preference, but miso soup was good.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The food was very fresh and very flavorful. My brother-in-law was in town from Seattle and is a very good judge of sushi, and he was impressed!

They remember their clients and treat you well. I always feel welcome here and encourage everyone to try this place. I love the volcano for something fancy and the california roll if you love simplicity. The chicken gyoza are a must as an appetizer 😀

Not only do they serve a variety of options including brown rice, unique appetizers and oysters, but they also deliver locally (and often quickly). I am a regular here and I have to say over the past few years, their quality has improved.

Comment: Delicious sushi and very affordable. We always get the lunch special - 3 rolls plus miso soup and salad for $12. My fiance and I come here at least once a month. With a generous tip, $33 for the two of us (without any drinks besides water). Rolls are tasty, made well and dont have too much rice. Theres also a beautiful view of the Denver skyline across Sloans Lake. Highly recommended.
