Comment: Solid restaurant. If you want to enjoy the whole experience, you can go and check out the Teppanyaki grill. If youre more of a people watcher or on a date, you can sit back in a booth and still enjoy the good food in a little bit more of an intimate setting. If you have a birthday they come out and play a little tune for you.. its pretty funny. The cheese wontons are a great starter and you can order what you would get from the Teppanyaki Grill brought straight to your table. Everything here is solid. Wait staff is usually cool and right on time. They work together well as far as expediting. Not the cleanest restaurant but they get really busy so I its understandable.

Comment: THIS IS THE WORST SHOWGUNS IVE EVER BEEN AT!!!!! the people here canโ€™t understand you whatsoever and when they brought us our food it was wrong and we couldnโ€™t tell them it was wrong bc they canโ€™t understand anything, and also the food was HORRIBLE everything tasted like it was freezer burnt or old, the sauce on the salad looked very old and also the soup that they bring out didnโ€™t taste normal and the chicken we got wasnโ€™t the right chicken and guess whatโ€ฆ we couldnโ€™t say it was wrong bc they canโ€™t understand nothing. the yum yum sauce didnโ€™t look the same, nothing did, and also the worker or whoever she was, even cleaned our table before we was done. i donโ€™t know how in the world they have a 4.2 starโ€ฆ they shouldnโ€™t even be in business, if this was the last place to eat id definitely starve.

Comment: Ordered off the menu. Both our entrees were not good. I had the General Tsoโ€™s chicken and hub had the chicken teriyaki. Mine was not edible. His was so-so. The chicken was awful, tough and stringy. Wonโ€™t be back again. Was hoping for better.

Comment: My Mom and Dads birthday was a hit! We had a table for ten and it was a great experience for the whole family! They came and sang happy birthday with music them, put a birthday bandana and the chef was exceptional! My salmon was spectacular! I appreciate the positive energy and the interactions between us. Comment: SO much fun! My first experience with teppanyaki and it definitely did not disappoint. Josh AKA Vanilla Rice really made the experience - he was hilarious and the jokes and sake bombs kept on coming. Really incredible food, too. I will definitely be back!!

Comment: The atmosphere is energetic, staff friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We ordered a sushi boat, and we enjoyed it immensely. The (warm) sake was subtle and very good. Everything was freshly prepared. We didnt have to wait because we opted for a booth.Tip: Come early if youre choosing the grill. We noticed a long wait for the other clients.

Comment: Absolutely the worst Shoguns/Hibachi Ive ever been to in my life. Dont be expecting yum yum noodles either. The eel sauce is thicker than tar and has 0 sweetness as well. Ordered calamari for an appetizer and it legit had 7 tiny pieces on the plate. The shrimp noodles were horrible as well. Literally a waste of $70, a waste of time and I feel bad for my taste buds. Do not waste your time coming here.

Comment: The food was poor quality and the ambiance fault wild, inauthentic, and pretty low class. I am absolutely convinced that my lo mein were wheat spaghetti noodles. Perhaps being understaffed is what made toilet paper from the bathrooms make its way to the hallway and dirty tables and napkins on the floor keep customers from getting a table. I had not been here in many years, Im pretty certain it will be many more before Im willing to give it another shot.

And if you went with sushi or something from the kitchen- thats all great too!! You literally cannot go wrong here!! Prices are reasonable for all you get. Huge price break for lunch if youre looking to save some money but want to enjoy the experience. Great fun for the whole family at any age.

So my husband decided we should go to Shogun, which has been a staple our our neighborhood for years, but which we had never tried. Well all I can say is that we certainly WILL become regular diners at Shogun.We chose the hibachi part of the restaurant so we could watch our chef cook our meals. What fun...our chef, Chef Ryan, was so personable & so entertaining that it was a joy to watch him. The food was not only very, very good, but there was a real abundance. Hibachi meals included soup, followed by a small salad ( with dressing that was absolutely yummy) & then the main event. We all ordered different things & all of them were deliciousI highly recommend Shogun to any & everyone who wants not only well-cooked, delicious meal, but a fun experience as well.

Comment: There were eight people in our group for a birthday celebration. We were seated as soon as all eight of us arrived and filled up a table. It took a while for the server to arrive but it looked as if they were understaffed. However, the service ended up being good once things got rolling. The chef was good and entertaining. It seems like the prep of the food has changed since we were there last as the ingredients were somewhat different along with some of the seasonings. An example is the miso soup which used to have fresh green onion now has dried onions. There seemed to be more oil utilized as well. All of us were served well and good size portions. The staff delivered our birthday cheesecake and did the drum ceremony, which was all nice. The restrooms are not maintained well.

We were given one small bowl for soy sauce and two packets of soy sauce. I asked if there was low sodium and if we could have more and she brought one more packet.The most frustrating part was the sushi itself. Not fresh, not good. I had then just started to look at the food menu and again she was taking food orders. Since there were other people at the table that I did not know, i just ordered without really looking at the menu. The food came as I was in the middle of my appetizer, the bill came as I was in the middle of my dinner. This was supposed to be a fun family night out, but instead we spent over $150.00 in less than an hour. Plus they did very little of the fun stuff that we go their to see, such as flipping of the spatulates and knives. They tried to flip zucchini to my wife (not shrimp like it use to be), she missed and the went on. Was not a fun night at all.

Comment: I never post reviews about restaurants unless it was really bad or really good. That said, I was so impressed with this place! Staff was very nice and accommodating! Our chef was Tony. He was hilarious and very entertaining. He squirted sake in the adults mouth. We got the hibachi table and had to share with a family with 2 small children and he even had a baby bottle with water so they could participate! I had the scallops and filet, a Midori Mai Tai, and some huge drink in a dragon bowl that they set on fire. The drinks were strong, the food was FRESH and delicious and Tony was very sweet and funny! We had someone in our party that had a seafood allergy so he made sure to do all of the seafood last. I would 10000 out of 10 recommend this place! It was an entire experience and while it wasnt the cheapest dinner, you get what you pay for!!! Definitely coming back for my birthday and any other occasion that I can!

Comment: Hibachi dining is fun and entertaining. They cook your meal in front of you and they tend to interact with the diners by tossing food for you to catch in your mouth. They also offer to spray saki into your mouth. The food is sooo good. They are popular for birthday celebrations, so they usually end up playing drums and bringing cheesecake with a lit candle to someone while youre there. They also have a dining area separate from the hibachi dining room in case you prefer to have a little more private seating. They have a nice selection of adult beverages and they have sushi. Highly recommend. Especially if you are celebrating anything. In fact, my boyfriend and I celebrate our yearly anniversary there. :)

I would say that the overall meal including the sides is just enough to fill you up. Though some of my friends felt like the meal wasnt enough. Comment: Where to begin? Went in to enjoy the show and eat. The next show was 30 minutes away so we opted out to the normal restaurant. Waited for 10 minutes to have a waitress get our drink order. When she did she left without asking about appetizers. When she return 15 minutes later I requested her to bring sweetener to the table. She took our orders and left .. 15 minutes later my wife asked the bartender for sweetener. Another 20 to 25 minutes for the lukewarm food to arrive. I could only pallet the shrimp. I ate nothing else. No drink refills no offer of dessert. 30 minutes after finishing up our food she finally shows up with our 60 dollar bill. Asks if I want a box and I told her I cared to much for my animals to feed them anything off my plate.

Comment: All in all, it was a cute spot for a date night. I think it couldve been decorate WAY better. Some of the appetizers had little to no flavor. I got the dumpling and chicken skewers and both tasted extremely bland. The actual Hibachi was good but tasted like any other chain hibachi restaurant. The chefs were fun to watch and the servers were quick to bring out the drinks and apps.

Comment: Love this place! Food is always on point. Staff is very friendly and quick. I think its easy to get frustrated with this place because they always seem to have a wait and seating issues with larger parties. But I also think thats sort of the way it goes with this kind of setting.Ive never had a bad meal here. For the price its a great time. Service with a show. A++!Note: they did not sho us any guns. You may need to ask. I honestly dont know how that would have enhanced out experience, but I leave that to each their own.

Comment: I should say Iโ€™m not one for writing reviews ever but this requires one. First off, this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner. It was intended to be a good time and yet somehow we spent $200 to be continuously ignored and repeatedly told us โ€œyou changed your mindโ€ when they got something wrong and had to listen to pointed and ridiculous โ€œjokesโ€ from our waiter. Including jokes about a food allergy which was essentially โ€œoh you have a food allergy? Too bad, we might rememberโ€I will say our chef did a good job and overall was the best part of the evening, but our waited continued to be an a**hole the entire time and repeatedly made inappropriate jokes, told us we were wrong multiple times about the orders we put in were different when they got it wrong.Aside from the fact they were serving alcohol to minors next to us, you would think some common decency wouldโ€™ve been expected. It wasnโ€™t and overall it was a terrible experience and I probably could have lit $200 on fire and enjoyed it more.

Comment: We dine at Shogun often and normally get good service, but this evening Friday November, 18th the chef decided to deliberately and blatantly give us less food than we ordered while loading up the plates of the couple next to us, that ordered the exact same dish. The Hibachi chief was very disheveled wearing a shirt so wrinkled it looked as if he took it from his car trunk and no one offered refills for our drinks. Comment: Went for my birthday with my family and we had an absolutely amazing experience! The host, waitress, and chef were all super nice. Comment: I have been a regular here for over 10 years. While I used to have time to go in for lunch I order online or to go more now. I am so pleasantly surprised everytime by how organized and fresh my delivery food is. Some places give you a sloppy mess, not here. I order about $70 of sushi, sashimi, and lo mein about once a week or two and itโ€™s always good!

We like their boxes, where you get an assortment of your choice of meat (steak, chicken, etc) with schrimp, rice, soup, sushi, rolls and more, at a very reasonable price.Food is good and fresh, and if your preffer to eat at the Teppanyaki table, you will have a lot of fun watching the cheff cook and make tricks in front of you.The facility is big and with a great parking lot. They charge for a someones birthday without informing us ahead of time that there would be a charge. The food was just ok. The performance was mediocre. There are definitely better steakhouses around. Miyabi, for example, is far superior. We will not be returning to Shoguns.

Comment: First the positive. The dining room had a very homey feeling. We didnt eat on the hibachi side so I cant comment on that. The mushroom appetizers were pretty good, the salad was on point, especially the dressing, and the miso soup was good. Thats why 2 stars instead of one. However, the sushi I got was way too salty, the katsu I ordered had a fishy taste, and the biggest sin to me was that the rice was undercooked, inexcusable for any Asian restaurant, let alone whats supposed to be a higher end one. The service wasnt the friendliest either. Sushi AI in Arnold has way better service, prices and their food is always on point, from their Sushi to their Teriyaki right down to their Hibachi dishes. Much fresher taste too. The only thing they dont have at Sushi AI is the performances which is what I suspect youre really paying for when you go here, because you definitely arent paying for quality food. My Filipino wife can make better rice than they did.

If your going to charge fresh food prices then serve fresh food please. Was not impressed with the chef. Not much enthusiasm or entertainment value here not very authentic. There were two birthdays at the table and only the pretty girl was acknowledged. We didnt get a choice of noodles or fired rice they just made rice for everyone.

Comment: The lady who sat us was extremely impatient and a little bit rude. We had to wait a while just to place our drink order. and was waiting even longer to place our food order. Then another while waiting t before the cook came out. The rice was uncooked so it was hard the cook was cross contaminating between the chicken steak and shrimp and also lobster he was also pushing the trash into the little hole with the same utensil that he was using to cook the meat with on several occasions I wanted to make a fuss but I was there as a guest to the birthday girl so I really tried to look pass it. Then right after all food was cook to go boxes was offered and the checks when we were literally smack dab in the middle of eating. If it wasnโ€™t for me getting sick I probably wouldnโ€™t had made this review but please be aware!

Comment: Dinner AND a show???!!! Whatta great time my friend & I had! Our whole table was so fun! Josh was our chef & at first, I was like, why is this white dude cooking my Japanese food???? But I digress! Ive been to this establishment many times (each enjoyable) but today was the best time out of them all! Josh ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ was hilarious & entertaining! The jokes & laughs just kept coming! He cooked my veggies, rice, steak & shrimp just right! Plus, he was pretty easy on the eyes, too! Everything was so enjoyable! Quality food. Good portions. Super yummy. Eli (super funny, as well), our waiter, kept everything running smoothly at our table. The other couple (not part of our party) plan to come every Thursday at 4pm just to request Josh. They had never been to hibachi & I think this might have been one of the greatest experiences that theyve ever had as well. Cheers to cheering me up, Josh, Eli & Shoguns! I know who Ill be requesting as my chef next time! Thanks for making my day!

So our entire table finally got up and left. As we were walking out one of the workers laughed at us.I felt horrible for the sweet family that was sitting with us. Comment: If I could give it zero stars I would. My boyfriend and I went there at 8 and didnโ€™t get seating for over 30 minutes no host in sight. After we were seated we waited another 30 minutes for a waitress to finally take our drink and appetizer order. I got two orders of sushi. It took an hour after that for the chef to come out and at that point my stomach was hurting i was in the bathroom for 20 minutes with horrible stomach pain. We got our main course and I couldnโ€™t even eat it with the stomach pain I was having. My boyfriend noticed is meat not tasting fresh and was out of date. We worked in restaurants our whole life so we can tell if something is freezer burnt, out of date, or fresh. We get our bill and leave and as we weโ€™re walking out I threw up in the parking lot and multiple times at home. My boyfriends stomach was hurting him pretty bad too. Come to find out I had gotten food poisoning. Worst experience in my life!

It was to the point that we almost asked for a bill for the appetizers, sald and soup. Our waitress was short with us and not friendly or very polite. The chef was dull. He prepared our meal and performed some tricks with the eggs and spatula but didnt say a word. Dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse should be an interactive experience; this was not! Comment: Went here with some friends for the teppanyaki experience. Our group of 5 was seated with another group of 2 and it worked great. Our table got along well, which was great, but that wouldve been out of the restaurants control anyway.Our chef was a delight. Not only was he skilled at all the cooking techniques and tricks youre used to at teppanyaki, but he was extremely personable and charismatic. If all of their chefs are this good, Shogun will be hard to beat.Finally, my main dish was the samurai steak, and it was cooked to perfection. So delicious. I had an excellent experience start to finish.

I did the vegetarian special and the vegetables had great flavor. My youngest son got chicken nuggets and fries, proof that there is something for all tastes.Each meal comes with a salad and soup.The birthday special is $6 and you get a headband, dessert (slice of cheesecake), and a song with drums. I got the feeling that a lot of customers were there for a popularity contest, other than a few older couples that still seemed truly in love. The steak was delicious. I ordered mine cooked medium-well and the searing was right, just enough to hold its exceptional flavors inside. The Arizona rolls are amazing with a perfect balance of avocado, tuna, and seasoning. I aldo recommend the Alaska! Yes, i enjoyed the overall experience here, but next time I decide to do Japanese itll be st home in the kitchen with myself as chef.

Comment: This is a nice place for dinner and a show. If you get the hibachi its usually a fun time. They do take good care of you and the portion sizes are very good for the price. Ive never tried the dinner options at a regular table, but Im sure theyre good too.Its a little pricey but you do get a good amount of food and its worth the experience of watching them prepare it. I do with you could get more veggies or something to replace rice/noodles, but those are to be expected at a Japanese restaurant.

Comment: New review - the food price has gone up from $12.99 to $21.99. The soup was not good and the salad was their usual. Some people dont like the dressing, but I do. The steak, rice and vegetables were tasty.The fans didnt seem to be working well at times. This was a bigger issue as all of the 60 people in the restaurant immediately took off their masks when they sat down. Now I understand how Covid can spread so easily in restaurants as people were loud, ventilation was poor and no masks were used at any time.

Comment: First thing we placed our order and our salad and soup came promptly along woth our drinks.. We then waited an entire hour for the chef to show up with our food to cook on the hibachi grill at our table. The food was beyond over cooked and for the price you pay you want good food. I ordered steak medium rare it was served to me well done. The shrimp was so over cooked it was like rubber. The chef didnt put all the sauces in the rice they normally do so it was blan. I usually tip well but this time I didnt. The place really wasnt that busy either. We watched our Chef turn away from the grill lower his face mask sneeze into his left hand and go right back to cooking with out washing his hand or hand sanitizing. The person who was waiting on us immediately after the chef got done cooking brought to go boxes and our check.We finished eating about 10 to 15 min after the chef got done. We waited for an additional 20 plus min for someone to come get our payment and drinks really didnt get refilled. Ontop of this the expierence wasnt good and we had a person celebrating a birthday in our party.Personal note: I have been rating restaurants that I go to on Google reviews for a little while now and I have never given a restaurant 1 star until tonight. Save your money and go to a nice steak house!

Comment: We love hibachi, and this place would have been 5 stars had we had a better experience. First, the chef dropped the bowl of garlic on the floor and then just scooped it up and put it back in the bowl. Then my friend ordered extra rice but they gave him the normal portion. The restaurant did cook some in the back and brought it out to the table after our meal was over. But the flavor is amazing and the chef was super sweet and funny, despite the lack of sanitization. Im not sure if it was just an off day kind of thing or what but you dont do that. Im not used to spaghetti noodles for my hibachi, but they were flavorful and delicious. The soup was amazing and ginger salad was perfect. He ordered extra shrimp and they filled his plate up. Scallops were cooked perfectly! Most overcook the seafood but the shrimp and scallops were both cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a great flavor, this is your place. Just make sure you watch what they do.

My mother asked for salmon without lemon when she ordered with the server and again with the chef and he put lemon right on her fish.๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ‹ One of the birthday kids asked for white rice and it never arrived until we asked again after the chef was all finished cooking. Overall, we had a good time- disappointed that the service and energy felt flat.

Comment: One of my favorite places to go for dinner. Always a great meal and a great time! I go to the Hibachi side, where they cook the food in front of you. This is fun to watch, but the best part is that your food is served as soon as it is ready, so its piping hot and perfectly prepared! Unbelievably great fried rice!! Sometimes, they toss tiny broccoli bits into your mouth (maybe) or squirt a stream of sake. The secret with the sake is to start swallowing sooner. I never catch the broccoli. Its a lot of fun!

Today I went back and tried the tofu Pad Thai and gave up after a couple bites.The tofu was not prepared well, it tasted spongey and oily. The vegetables were room temperature and were an odd mix not paired well to the dish. The noodles were cooked well, but the whole dish had an unpleasant smell.The salad that came with this meal was downright criminal.Service was fine, although they did have Bones playing on the TV. No one wants to look at maggots while they eat.

She took one item off our bill, bringing it down to $38.99, which I still felt wasnt good enough because my fiance didnt even touch his plate. When I told the manager I wasnt willing to pay for something we didnt have, she seized any communication with us, and called the police!Another 20 minutes of being ignored by the staff while waiting for the officer to arrive, and we were told that unless we pay in full we were going to be arrested!I left there almost in tears. Such an embarrassment they made us go through by denying our right as a customer to have concerns, or to be dissatisfied with the food and service. Extortion as a way to do business. Shame.

We went tonight (a Tuesday) and they let multiple groups go ahead of us, because they filled a whole table, and we didnt. Basically, they were waiting for a group of 4-5 to pair up with our group of 3 to fill a table. I understand that is how their seating and cooking works best, but to keep skipping us over was a bit ridiculous. We finally were being seated, and they told us to wait again. We refused, and said just seat us so we can get appetizers/drinks going.Once we got seated, we were not greeted for another 10 minutes. The server finally came and got our drinks, then we put in appetizers. Those took about another 15 minutes to arrive. At that point, I guess they gave up and decided to feed 3 people, since all the groups coming in were 6-8. Meanwhile, my kid is watching the table next to us that came in after us get quite a show and get fed.Our order was taken, chef came out, and at first he did tried to engage our son a bit, but our boy was about an hour past hungry and was grumpy/tired. After this, the chef made no effort to engage us or him. He didnt do any of the usual tricks: no egg flip, no sake squirting, no broccoli toss, none of the fireman joke, and he barely did the onion volcano.The food was underseasoned once we finally got to eat. Last time I checked, you shouldnt put a piece of dessert next to a toddler who just got his food, because now he wont eat the meal. I know 3 year olds arent your target customer, but I have been there enough to know that children eating there is pretty common. They did not take a picture or offer to take one with our phones, like they typically did. I paid $4.50 or whatever to have them prevent my kid from eating the $9 meal we bought him.For a total bill of $90 (2 adults + kid, appetizers, drinks, celebration), I expected better than this. We really used to like coming here, but we got treated terribly just because we didnt bring a large enough group. I dont think we will be returning.

Comment: Took my 9 year old last night for his birthday. After reading some other reviews I was concerned, but our service and food were great. Our glasses were kept full, the show was fun... The only complaint I could have was when the chef came to cook our food, we realized he had all the correct meat except my chicken. When he realized this, he got a server to bring it out and got it cooked up promptly. My son had a wonderful time, especially when they made him get up in his chair and dance when they sang Happy Birthday to him. The place filled up while we were there, and everyone seemed to be well taken are of and having a good time! WILL go again!
