There isn’t any other place with a deal that great!All of the people that work there are super friendly and always are smiling and willing to help me out with any questions I have!There’s a woman that’s works here a lot. I don’t know if she is a manager or the owner but her name is Ivy, and she’s one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen working at a restaurant!It’s such a fantastic place to eat and you can’t beat the prices!

Time was around 12:30 pm on 1/15… instead of being greeted by the hostess she looked overwhelmed and stressed which I understand the restaurant was busy… I just wanted to ask how long the wait was. She then tipped over some pens and pencils and started cleaning them up aggressively. I was just waiting patiently till she was finished. Instead of looking up and asking how she could help she looked over and in a rude tone told me “give us like 5 minutes” all I wanted to know was the wait. So rude. Walked out and will not be coming back because of this rude hostess.

The fried items (sweet potato tempura and fried Oreos) tasted like old oil and ruined the flavor.I was so bummed because I saw so many great reviews even from today... But nope, I cant agree with them. 🤷‍♀️ I really wanted to like this place... But just couldnt. I cant speak to the other locations, but this location is a huge AVOID at all cost unless you are going to only eat the gyoza 🥟. Otherwise, all of the other food immediately upset my stomach.Ive literally had better sushi at a buffet, save your money dont go here.

As an avid sushi fan I was excited to visit Sushi Ai, especially after seeing all the great reviews.Wow, was I surprised when I got the customer-favorite $25 all-you-can-eat sushi only to find that every single piece and roll was made from atrocious quality sushi, mushy vegetables, and overly sweetened rice.Its unacceptable when you cant even tell the difference between the different fish options because theyre all tasteless, poor quality pieces.The cherry on top: its right next door to a cigar store, so the whole restaurant smells.This place is hands down the worst sushi restaurant Ive been to.

Comment: If you want seaweed, rice, and fish its fine. But if have ever had real sushi- proper rice, proper cut, proper temperature, proper texture, ocean fresh fish- it is none of that. Its cheap and you get what you pay for. Fish is a bit sus at times, leaving you with a bad taste in your mouth, its sloppy, and the proportion of rice to fish is silliness. But if you crave sushi and want a bargain then you will probably be satisfied.

My order was ready, on their fill-in card, and I was completely ignored as waters were brought and orders taken right in front of me. Incredibly rude and greedy, if stereotyping for tips is what happened. I found they didnt have a manager on duty, noone in charge. I find that discerning. Theyve lost my respect, through showing me a lack of respect and functionality. Its, whatevs, but dont be surprised if you have a similar experience.

Fried cheesecake...FABULOUS!I did later order take out.I ordered chicken fried rice no carrots with broccoli the Philadelphia fried roll. I didnt check my order which was a mistake. No broccoli & my gift card was charged twice however I only ordered 2 items. So double charged.3rd time I actually sat at the bar and the treatment when ordering my food definitely wasnt as kind as the 1st experience. The gentleman that had made my Philadelphia fried roll seemed to have a hell of an attitude issue but my waiter was fabulous.Overall, dine in is great, carry-out...CHECK your food before leaving and make sure your card wasnt charged for more than what you ordered.Ill return but dining in with family next time.

I got lucky and sat down at 2:49 and got locked in for the lunch price ($14.99).I’ve heard bad things about sushi and raw fish in the Midwest, but I’m not sure what that’s about. It is all you can eat, but the quality is absolutely fine. It’s not top tier, but you’re getting a fantastic deal. The sushi variation is wide and it tastes good.I like the decorations and the paper sheet to fill out. It was an intimate place and it wasn’t overly loud, they have tons of TVs so if you want to watch sports then this is a great place to eat, drink, and be merry.

The only issues I have are that the staff needs to improve on listening or reading what the customers ask for and some items need improvement. On several occasions I asked for extra ginger or searing to which no action was taken. The tuna tataki was too thick and hardly seared at all. Also, the table menus provided do not have all items available. You have to scan the QR code hidden at the table. A little work will go a long way here.

Comment: The price for the dinner buffet has steadily increased in price but it is still very decent AYCE sushi for around $30 total. You can get unlucky and get a bad chef that will scam you by slicing fish super thin and packing mountains of rice to fill you up. Service is kind of slow, around 15-20 minutes wait per rounds of sushi. But that may be because this place is fully packed on the weekends. For the food, I highly recommend the fried oreos. The chicken skewers can be hit or miss and theyre smaller than normal skewers so order many more than usual. Salmon and eel are my favorites but the other fish are decent. I still come here at least once a month.

What I don’t get is how you seat two groups totaling over 20 people, block the exit out of the area, and then monopolize the entire kitchen to make food for these two select groups. Wash U kids literally make coming here a horrible experience and you screw everyone else over to accommodate them. I get you want to make money, but you are pushing away the customers who come all year round. If I want to stuff my face with sushi, I can, and that’s what I pay for. You guys ripped me off tonight and wouldn’t even let me put in an order ahead of the 20 plus and telling me tough luck it’s gonna be 30 minutes or more. I just felt bad for anyone just seated after these kids all walked in. Bad experience and I didn’t appreciate the attitude given to my uncle when he was trying to be seated while I parked. Comment: Damn good for what it is - mid-level sushi, featuring an ayce buffet. Go in expecting some legit omakase quality fish, and youll be disappointed. What they do have here is some above average nigiri. Flavorful, fresh fish, with rice that actually isnt too warm or too sweet or too mushy, which many bars on this level are guilty of serving. Some very good rolls here too, if youre into a little saucy americanized sushi business. They do not all taste the same - which again, a lot of ayce bars tend toward. Service is quick too.

The service wasnt all that great and the food was mediocre, but what really made us mad was that, there was two Chinese girls that worked there, speaking in Chinese talking about that Chinese and African American customers dont tip well. Portion sizes were the smallest Ive had at a Japanese restaurant. It didnt seem to be on account of just a random experience, everything was small from the sauces that came with the vegetable tempura to the Wasabi that was so meager I had to measure it...it was a dollop the size of the tip of my pinky finger. It was not an insanely busy dinner rush it seemed, maybe two thirds of the restaurant was filled. Maybe they were short staffed, who knows, but we were none the wiser other than to find ourselves waiting uncomfortably long just to get a water refill. The food was served timely. The greet staff was very friendly and so too was the service. But in all, there was too much lacking in the areas that make it desirable to return, Im sorry to say.

Last night was the second time (and last) that I will order from this location. My Michigan rolls were SO dry that I couldnt even eat them after trying the first one, my honey rolls were also VERY dry to the point where it was hard to swallow. I am so disappointed because I absolutely LOVE the Sushi Ai Arnold Location, but it is further out of the way for me. I just dont understand how one location can be absolutely amazing, and then a different location is almost inedible, and Im even ordering the same exact things so I know what the standard should be.Definitely wasnt worth the $30 at this location, and I wish I wouldve taken them back and shown them their product and gotten a refund, but after working all day and then being disappointed, I didnt have the energy. She was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately for the bad - this was some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The fish was old and chewy and the rolls were all falling apart. We got there right when it opened. Our server was great and they kept our table cleared. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you like sushi.

Be careful though because if you dont finish your sushi you will have to pay for it. Pace yourself! The meal even includes a desert if you wish. Definitely a great stop if you are a sushi lover.

Comment: I think I finally found my sushi fix! I was impressed by the sushi, considering that Missouri is a land-locked state. It was still not as good as sushi youd find on a coastal state, but its not really fair to compare it to those locations. All thinks considered, this is a great place to go for a sushi buffet.My experience at this Clayton location was a hundred times better than at the Downtown/Olive Street location. The only downside is that the atmosphere was extremely loud. We came on a Saturday night which is a very busy time.Despite the chaos, waiters were very organized and attentive to whenever we needed anything or to when we were ready to place another order.I love how the only catch was that you have to pay for leftovers! No time limit, no limit on nigiri, and fast service! We got our orders within 10 mins after placing them it seemed like. It was fast paced, allowing us to efficiently stuff our faces with sushi.The more people you have the better because you can try more things that way! The salmon nigiri wasnt as good as what Im used to, but the squid nigiri was yummy. The Crazy spicy crab roll and Boston roll were so good that we reordered them on our second round.I will definitely be coming back! But probably on a quieter weekday lunch!

The sushi isnt the only good flavors there either. The Udon is awesome, stir fry, fried rice, and teriyaki (anything) is good too.

The only thing I couldnt find or didnt see was a toilet... Tip: on the all you can eat list, TNT roll does not stand on it, but you should write it somewhere down with the amount you want to get. Comment: A comfortable setting with friendly staff, and fantastic sushi. The buy one get one half off all-you-can-eat Sundays ($30 for two) makes it the perfect date spot. The sushi and the rolls are very nicely crafted and we enjoyed all we ordered, and we ordered quite a lot.Something thats probably minor to most people but stood out to me was the quality of the sliced ginger. It was the perfect finisher and palate cleanser between rolls. Definitely the best ginger Ive had from any sushi spot in STL so far.

The choices are more than adequate, and te service is quick. The only thing that is a dark mark is that when they get busy, the staff does have some issues keeping up. Comment: We go there pretty regularly. When we were there couple weeks ago the staff were changed completely, and they were putting way too much rice when they were making rolls and sushi. So we have set a side maybe a spoon full of rice aside because it was too much. Our waitress comes up before she charged us for the meal, she informed us that she has to charge $3.00 for rice that we have left. I understand them charging us if we left sushi rolls, but seriously $3.00 for rice? And it wasnt even full plate of it. It was just a spoon full. I have never had any problems with Sushi Ai, I even worked for one of the locations. This is the first location that charged for leftover rice. Will never be going back to this location ever.
