Comment: Fabulous food, wonderful, lovely, attentive staff. The sashimi was amazing (cant believe Id never ordered it before)! I often get my favs: Old Webster and Sunrise rolls. Katsu Kare is also wonderful. Also love the Umami Leaves. House salad is a must. Everything is great.

Comment: The best sushi in the area! i love every roll i get and i absolutely love the spring rolls. it is a bit on the expensive side but i feel like that’s a given for sushi places. it’s usually always pretty busy unless you go early in the day. the bar is very nice to sit at, and you get to watch them make the rolls. im never unsatisfied when i come to sushi station!

The price of the food has gone up quite a bit since the last time we ate there.Place was incredibly packed/busy on a Saturday night and there is next to no noise cancellation in the restaurant.Worst part was that we sat at the bar because of the business (which, it was nice that we were able to sit), and then the door to the freezing outdoors was constantly opened because of the busy-ness, and we were miserably cold the whole time.Recommend skipping the bar during winter time.

Comment: Big new fan. I’m a huge Sunday night sushi carry out person. Nobu on Olive for decades, Ted & Teiko back in the day, and Wasabi Warson Woods (not great but close to me for carry out). So I’ve had no easy choices for years. My son recommended Sushi Station and this is my second carry out in two weeks. Easy phone in ordering, love the location, nice looking inside, busy busy which is always good for sushi fans, quality professional packaging, and every item has been really, really good. I’m psyched to have a new sushi restaurant close by. Great job, Sushi Station.

Comment: Although my server was great, I was dissatisfied with the other workers/management . My friend ordered chicken katsu and the sauce came on the side. I ordered calamari and my sauce came on it so I asked if I could receive a different order without the sauce(since hers was without the sauce on it I assumed but that’s very inconsistent on their part). The person proceeded to tell me that I had to order(buy) another calamari if I wanted that. The amount of money spent is not the issue, it’s just the principle! I Will not be back but again, I thank my server for being great!

Comment: Fantastic cozy restaurant. Easily a favorite sushi place in the STL area.Ordered multiple rolls and everything was fresh and inventive. Lots of imaginative roll combinations.Favorites were the Firecracker Roll and the Umami Leaves appetizer.Situated in the middle of Old Webster, a great place to eat and take a stroll.Looking forward to going again to try more.

Comment: Myself and a friend were seated at the bar for dinner and spotted THREE roaches in less than 30 minutes. After receiving our appetizer, a cockroach-type bug scurried across our section of the counter, eventually crawling into the basket of clean napkins. The woman sitting next to us informed the waitstaff who scooped the bug into the trash. Another roach made an appearance after we got our sushi. A staff member then killed this bug and we moved to the back dining room. We spotted yet another roach crawling on the floor. We immediately ask to pay and leave. No compensation was offered or any apology for our experience. Safe to say, we won’t be returning even though this was one of our favorite sushi spots.

It was nothing like nagiri, and the server and manager both told me I was wrong to expect a piece of fish on some rice for nagiri.Sushi bar was sticky. Comment: I went there for a quick lunch but never again. I barely got in the door and this loud woman is telling me & pointing to sit over at this table. I ordered miso soup, fried rice and two pieces of snapper and mackerel sushi.. Miso soup came quickly, then the sushi. Didnt look like mackerel or snapper and was not cold. I questioned the waiter and he said yes, this is what is looks like. Then he brought a big bowl of rice with very little vegetables, some carrot and corn like would come out of a can, no taste to this at all, I ask for some oil for this as if you get fried rice you can tell if it has oil on it, then they asked what can of oil? Like the kind it was supposed to be made with? By this time, this woman comes over and I explain to her this is nothing but a big bowl of rice very little vegetable, no oil for $10.00. What can she do? Can I order or substitute something else. No there is nothing she can or is willing to do. The waiter asked do I want this to go?-no I do not. I requested the check. The check comes and no recourse, they did not take the charge for the rice off the bill. I told her this was unacceptable and now I have to go somewhere else for lunch as I am still hungry. Over $20.00. She states we have been here for 9 years, like this is suppose to change my mind about this place. The waiter was very quiet, almost like he was embarrassed. Besides the lousy food, this woman is very controlling & defensive toward customers. I will not be back because of her attitude toward customers. BEWARE before you go!

Comment: This place was absolutely horrible and the employees expected me to understand their establishment and it’s rules from the moment I walked in. However, the worst part is the forced tipping on CARRYOUT orders. Yes, I had to pay a tip on carryout food and they pointed to wall and said the information is posted. I had to catch a flight so I choose not to cancel. The food was not even worth the trip but I guess the tip did not help. Hope that employees is rested with respect because she did not seem happy that day in my opinion.

Comment: My first and last experience at this restaurant. I ordered pickup and paid over the phone upon arrival I noticed my order wasnt what I requested. When I mentioned it to the worker she was rude with an attitude and yelled that this was what I asked for rolled her eyes and snatched my bag. She did not offer to remake order nor would she refund my order and told me sales are final. I paid in advance left without any food, and also see that they charged me a 15%tip which wasnt mentioned on the phone while placing order.

Get your phone out you sack of germs because we cant trust you with a folding menu.Hope you like asparagus because the Sushi Station choo choos that pee smeller into almost every dish.This place feels like the culmination of a marketing major just returning from semester abroad in London town falling in lust with a Hells Kitchen burnout with a trust fund. Take what you know and love about Sushi and now dial it back to the biggest meh of your life. Our waitresses was so eager to make us happy, she constantly interrupted conversations at our table, checking if everything was ok. Comment: I love the sushi at this place!! Pui, the owner, is amazing and remembers her customers. I love sitting out on the side of the street, watching traffic pass by, hopefully they put the tables and chairs back in the front. The back patio is loud and hot so I avoid that. I enjoy the nice counters in the restaurant, but those are starting to get cramped with different items as well.I have tried to use the soy sauce dispensers, which are actually pancake syrup dispensers, and they spill a bit more than you want, so be careful with those. The bathrooms are not very clean, but they smell decent. The place is small but awesome. I love the small cafe style atmosphere in Sushi Station. Keep up the good work!!!Update 2023.This place has grown into one of the best, if not the best, sushi place in the metro St. Louis area. They have outdoor seating and recently built a covered patio in the back. If you, go early and expect a wait. The sushi is top notch and the hectic environment is sort of fun to watch. Better soy sauce dispensers (chalk the previous dispensers up to a novel idea that didnt work).The bathrooms have been rehabbed and are pretty decent. Seriously though, great sushi. The team at sushi station are doing it right.

Comment: We have ordered from here many times before. The last time they forgot large portion of our order and we found out after we got home. When we called to have it rectified, after having to send a screen shot of the order and having them review it, we were told that a credit would be placed under our name for the next time we order. Well we tried to order again. When we called we were told they would have to get a manager and would call us back in 10 minutes. 50 minutes later when we called again they said there wasn’t a manager available and they would call us back in 5 minutes. 20 minutes after that a manager did call us back and had us send more screen shots of our previous order and then told us they had no record of our previous conversation and that the time between our last order was too far in the past. After 1.5 hrs back and forth on the phone I asked if they were going to honor this credit and it became obvious they were not going to. I will definitely go elsewhere in the future.

Comment: Two friends and I decided to come here for lunch today around 12:00.We were seated, got our beverages and informed the manager that one of us was on a special diet till May and brought his food but that the other two would be ordering. We were quickly told we could not do that and that we would have to leave. It didn’t matter that our lunch bill would of probably been about a hundred dollars, and that she only had 1 other seated table during the height of the afternoon. She was very unfriendly. Looking at the other reviews on here, I see other patrons complaining about the unfriendly service. Not to mention, we are part of a dinner group that could of brought her a lot of business. In todays small business market, I suspect unless she makes some changes to adapt to todays patrons needs, she will have a hard time ahead.

Also, please make sure you don’t tip them again since they include in the bill mandatory 15% sales tip and as far as I remember the sales tax in Webster is 9.11%, not 9.24%. Don’t order food online otherwise you’ll get only half of the order. Trust me, I live near and something is wrong there.

I ordered a firecracker roll and the price was ridiculous with crab ragoon. The crab ragoon did not taste real at all. It was very thinly filled and the wonton was a bit over cooked. The sushi was served to my friend and I brokenly. Plating matters! Our server also did not check in if we needed anything, we had to wave her down several times. And to add on there was a gratuity fee added to my check. For a table of 3.

Comment: A friend of mine told me that this is the best sushi in St. Louis right now and I thought, ok at least it will probably be pretty good. My wife and our two kids, 15 and 12, ate here this afternoon, and I could not have been more pleased.Every single roll we ordered, five total, was absolutely delicious. I think its fairly rare to have every person in a dining party think that the food was excellent, especially when everyone orders something different, but we all thought everything was perfect, and we each ate a little bit of everyone elses stuff and we all thought that was great too.Seriously, if you love sushi, eat here. We will be going back very often unless the quality drops off.Only negative thing I have to say is that the appetizers were mediocre. Edamame portion was about half of what I would have liked - the stuff is super cheap - give a larger portion for $7. The crab rangoon was the same stuff that you would get at a buffet - not bad, but not even close to great.I cant wait to go back - so good!

They use a third-party provider called APPLOVA to handle their online orders and it took me a day and a half to confirm they would process a refund, and that occurred only after multiple emails and phone calls .... I will say the restaurant was very busy when I initially canceled and they were diligent about trying to help me after I followed up with them (which is a testament to their level of service). But it took an inordinate amount of time to cancel and confirm a refund would actually be processed. I would just recommend ordering over the phone or in store to avoid the frustration.

My only gripe is that we ordered the eel bowl and couldn’t eat it because it had hundreds of tiny bones in it and we were afraid we might swallow them. It was almost impossible to eat, that’s how many bones there were. So we called the waitress over and told her and she took it away. When the bill came, they refused to take it off the bill because they said all sales are final. So we had to pay $20 for something that we sent back because it was too dangerous to eat.

I noticed waitresses eating behind bar by food prep and one blew her nose and didnt wash her hands after; really gross. pretty long wait for only ordering 4 rolls and it wasnt busy at all. the sweet egg was very good, and the other rolls were flavorful, but too spicy to really taste the tuna and salmon, which made me suspicious concerning freshness, that and the consistency of the tuna and salmon; which appeared runny and mealy. My st. Louis roll was over spiced and I only saw one option for eel and that was bbq; though a decent tasting roll. I would try this place again and hope for a bit better. The management/owner needs to have a talk concerning self hygiene/washing hands, and appropriate place to eat (not around food being prepped) and offer non spicy options for basic salmon and/or tuna rolls.

She said they have been doing this since the beginning of the pandemic. I understand why they were doing that to help their serving staff during the shut down but to still be doing this for CARRYOUT ORDERS is wrong. Also, in all my times ordering take out from there they have never applied 20% gratuity. I typically tip 10-15% for carryout. Tipping should not be made to be mandatory. When I got there to pick it up, I asked them for salt for my edamame because they always have forgotten it. This young lady argued with me that there was already salt on it and dramatically yelled out to the kitchen staff for a side of salt. When I showed her the edamame she just stated Oh. Well. they usually do. I will never go back. The sushi is good but there are other places more deserving of my business.

A tip is also something that is a form of gratitude and is not legally required by law. My money, my choice, my freedom to spend, use, and tip as I please. Checking in on me 1 time throughout the entire meal with no water refill, being neglected while seated outside, and needing to walk in to ask for my bill while 5 other workers stood around inside not doing much is not considered GREAT service. Service should be great even if I don’t make a complaint. Also, tip imo should be calculated pre-tax. The bill was $60 something pre-tax and therefore, do not assume cost+tax+tip is the total tab. I do not mind being confronted by how much I tip as both food and service were nothing special and mediocre. However, the things said in the confrontation are what I find unappreciated and rude, leading to this review. Telling me to order takeout instead of dining in if I don’t tip over 15% is rude. According to a Yelp review, another customer was confronted for paying a 15% tip. What exactly will be enough? Telling me that ~10% pre-tax is not sufficient makes me feel that my business is unappreciated. It is not my duty as a customer to pay your workers if they feel underpaid. Loudly saying my god behind my back as I leave will not earn you more tip. As a customer, I will use my rights to tip and review as I please based on my personal experience. This was the first and will be the last time I dine here. In addition, I DO NOT appreciate your lies about MY experience. My wife and I walked in about an hour before closing and we did not have our masks on but neither the other customers at any of the half dozen tables in the very very small dining area. Most of the staff did have a mask on but one staff member was sitting at the sushi bar with his mask pulled down below his chin. We were given the option to leave or be seated outside. I have been to almost all the major sushi in St. Louis and still believe to this day that Sushi Station is the best. I walked in and waited 5 minutes to be seated for a table of 4 and it looked to be a pretty busy day. Once my friends and I sat down, the waitress was immediately over with waters and ready for any kind drink orders for us. After ordering a few sodas, we waited around 10 minutes to put our food order in. The waitress was extremely helpful with ordering and kindly answered any questions we had about different kinds of sushi. We ordered 4 rolls that we were all splitting and we waited around 20 minutes for it to get out. The sushi was immaculate and anytime anyone ask for a suggestion of a sushi place I always say sushi station. Overall, this experience turned out so fun and yummy. We finally asked the hostess to let our waitress know that we needed to go, asked for our bill and requested the sushi to go. About 5 minutes later, the waitress came with our food; it wasnt boxed to go, she had the to go boxes with her and then she said shed be back for payment. My husband, my mother and I went in for lunch on Sunday (Fathers Day) and it was not very busy. We ordered and waited for 45 minutes, saw other tables get served and finally my husband asked about the status of our order. We were told that our order would be out soon. Another server came out to tell us that there were large orders that came in before us (maybe deliveries?), other people ordered appetizers - she had a lot of excuses and kept speaking even as she walked away. 15 minutes later my mother asked again about our food and soon after our order came out. As we were leaving my husband made a comment about possible ways to handle the situation in the future and the woman was absolutely not interested. Instead, she decided to rudely start talking about us and how awful we were to other customers lierally as we were walking out the door and still within earshot and sight. I typically say nothing but I turned and said well, thats not exactly what happened and I started to say speak but she interrupted me and went out of her way to speak as condescending and rudely as she possible (ooookaaay, oookkaaay, you have a NIIIIICE day). All in front of other patrons. I couldnt believe it. I have no idea how this place stays in business - regardless of how good the food was I will never go back. Unbelievable experience.

Comment: Used to have a really good time here until a very odd experience happened to my girlfriend and I. We’ve been coming here for years and one night were seated at a table for two, gotten our drinks then another couple walked in and the management started catering to them hand and foot. Then astonishingly we were asked to moved out of our seats to the table right next to the seat we were sitting which was a four top. I asked for the manager and said “why were we moved out of our seats that we were already in so those people could have them” To which they replied you can have this table. I insisted that this behavior makes no sense! The interaction then devolved into incoherent babel and circular conversation. The manager then left hastily.It was truly a bizarre situation.Found out later that it’s under new management as of years ago, so that may have something to do with the customer service.Happy to have moved on to somewhere less confounding.

Comment: A comprehensive menu offering your typical Sushi and nigiri items. The house salad has recently been updated and is much larger with a very tasty Sesame and ginger dressing. There are limited vegetarian options on the menu, really only the vegetable tempura and the expected veggie roll. They cant get quite busy during dinner hours but there is also outdoor seating with about five tables. Stafford typically friendly and sitting right at the bar can be fun. I recommend checking this place out and hope to see some more vegetarian options on the menu soon.

There was no seating inside, only at the bar and we are not old enough to sit there so we went outside, which was fine. Some people came in about five minutes after we did.They ordered and got there food before we even got our order taken. Then we left $30 and our bill was $29.49. We left a small tip because we did not receive good service. Then a employee ran out of the restaurant as we were leaving, and harassed us about not giving a big enough tip. Comment: I have supported Sushi Station since they opened their doors and I honestly hate having to make a review like this, but I must warn people because I have found the EXACT same reviews on Yelp and Google reviews with what I have now experienced, so I only can hope this helps.I ordered a to go order from sushi station and had two rolls and gyoza for my order. The lady who took my order repeated back to me the correct order as they always do, so nothing wrong there. I picked up my order from curb side & when I got home I realized my Gyoza was gone and that one of the sushi rolls was incorrect. I called Sushi Station and let them know what had happened. Immediately I was treated with complete disrespect by the server named Sarah. She told me there was nothing she was going to do. I asked to speak with the manager or have a way of contacting her/he & I was told no. I then asked if I could have the managers name and if you can imagine this I was told NO. I couldn’t believe it. I was told I couldn’t have the managers name, number and no compensation for their mistake. I will never support this business ever again.

I think only 3 tables were being used outside. They also have the inside open as well if thats what you want. I also had the miso soup (nice and hot and soothing)

Comment: The staff on 8/14 were so sweet and welcoming, the waiters/waitresses always kept our water filled and kindly opened doors which was unexpected but appreciated. Also made sure everything was sent out properly and in a timely manor. The ingredients they use are fresh and so delicious, everything I tried (spring rolls, spicy salmon roll and a single yellowtail) had so much finesse and you could tell the chefs put time and effort into the product. Definitely a wonderful first experience and will be returning.

Comment: I am a Grubhub delivery driver and my earnings depend on how much time I spend at restaurants. Sometimes we place orders over the phone so that when we get there the food is ready or about to be completed. It’s not for this restaurant, I called and spoke to one of the ladies who told me an order is only worked on after it’s paid for and that it takes 25mins to complete an order. I told her that it’s the reason I called so that I don’t sit for 25mins waiting for an order. I explained that am a delivery driver whose earnings depended on time spent at the restaurant and that I had my delivery card to pay for the order but she said she couldn’t help. There is no hard feelings over my rating, it’s just a rating for delivery drivers not people that would love to go and have a meal here. Hopefully management looks into this because am pretty sure another delivery driver will do the same thing like am doing. The staff though were very friendly.

From the moment we entered, we were greeted within seconds by a welcoming staff member and swiftly escorted to our seats. It was a cold night and we were sat by the window and it was still completely warm and comfortable. Our server came over shortly after and was attentive for the entire duration of our stay. Not once did did we feel unattended to. The vibe was quiet, relaxing, and cozy. Comment: RUDE & DISGUSTING! Those are the two words I would use for this place. After ordering a $135 take out order, we arrived and they gave our food to another customer by mistake. Rather than apologizing they rudely asked us to wait while they remade our food. I understand the frustration, so we let that slide. THEN they had the nerve to ask tell us the customer was in his way back with our food, and if we would take it???? THAT IS UTTERLY DISGUSTING!! A man left with our food, and is coming back and you want me to take it?! Wow. Then after being talked about by all the staff right in front of us, calling us rude and selfish, we asked to speak to a manager or whoever was in charge they told us that they had no management but gave us a cell phone number. When we finally got our food over 45 minutes later because they did not push it to the top of the list, they messed it up. When we finally called the manager on the way home, where when I started to discuss the issues we had she hung up on me. When I called back. She declined. Until she finally answered. When I told her she claimed that it she watched a video tape and the customer was at fault. She never once offered a discount or apology, and when I told her I would review them proceeded to blame and and my mother for the issues! Again, after waiting we still spent $135 + 2 cocktails! Not to mention they are constantly giving back to the community. Ive gone in there a number of times and they are preparing for a fundraiser or charity endeavor.2. The food is the best! Comment: The best sushi you will find in St Louis. The menu has a range of prices so it is easy to stay on budget. There is a kids menu as well and a huge selection of appatizers and entrees. There are many different rolls for any mood you are in. My favorite things to get here are the ragoons, chicken teriyaki, and the sunrise roll. Great flavor, textures, the chicken is never dry and the fish is always fresh. Great food with great service.

Comment: The food is reliably good. ( My favorite is the eel bowl.) Though the restaurant looks small, it is well designed, with comfortable, non-restrictive seating and a pleasant atmosphere. Order customizations are well-received, and the staff is professional and courteous.

Comment: This is (so far) or favorite sushi restaurant. Weve tried several sushi restaurants and this place had the most interesting rolls, although for nigiri alone Id probably go back to Kampai. My husband was especially excited about the orange chicken appetizer. I personally like that this restaurant is near a decent parking garage, which makes it far more convenience. Service was great although theyre often out of their cheesecake. Well definitely be back!We have tried several rolls:Sexy girl: was a little more asparagus forward than I was expecting, but Id happily get it again if I want something on the lighter side.Sunset: might be our new favorite, it has a great sweetness to it but its not overwhelming and doesnt feel heavy.Marcos: My husband thought the Marcos had too much cream cheese, but I might have liked it a little more than the Sunset.Holy Crab roll: We werent a fan it really needed some sort of sauce and tasted strongly of fake crab.Update: We shopped around for other sushi places, but came back and are SO glad we did. Some of their rolls have just too much crab, but their White House roll is probably what were going to get for the rest of forever.

Comment: I have tried out numerous sushi places in the St. Louis area. I wondered to myself why the salmon tastes and feels as soft as butter in my mouth. After talking with the owner I discovered that it’s all about picking out the right cuts of fish at the market. A talented (not just experienced) sushi chef is able to determine and pick out the best cuts of fish. She told me she hired someone she had known for a long time and who is also a very talented sushi chef. I literally do not go to any other sushi place besides sushi station.

Comment: Really enjoyed my familys first visit to the Sushi Station. The atmosphere was great for a small family or for any type of meeting. I liked the entrees and the rolls. Actually, all the food was delicious. The only thing I think they need to improve up on is their liquor selection. That wont keep me from returning as Im planning on another visit soon.

Comment: I go for the crab rangoons. In my opinion some of the best in town. They come with house sweet and sour and pickled ginger. The orange chicken is top shelf too. They use quality cuts of chicken and the sauce is more of a glaze then the normal pool of liquid. The vegetable rice was just average good vegetables weird style of rice. I go for the American Chinese food, but the sushi is good as well.

Comment: Great food, Terrible service and wait time. Sat and waited 15 minutes before we got water and a server. Another 35 minutes to get food. It was decent sushi for a decent price. Would go back but not during a busy time. Enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar as well, neat to watch the sushi chefs do their thing.

Comment: Im a frequent customer and as always I am very impressed with the staff and food. I am always greeted as soon as I walk in and the service is prompt and food is prepared quick. Top notch and highly recommended for your sushi cravings!

Comment: Quaint sushi spot with delicious food. The Rangoons and orange chicken is delicious for an appetizer. For an entree, the volcano roll and spicy girl is very good! Not a sushi fan? My husband loves the katsu chicken. Great service, great location, and good food! What more can you ask for? Highly recommend.

Comment: I chose to get takeout tonight for the Dine-out for officer Matt Crosby, having never been to the Sushi Station before. I am amazed! The food was INCREDIBLE! But the best part was that Pui, the owner, was intermingling with the other employees, hands on. She made it a point to come and greet me and tell me about the fundraiser and share stories! Never had more incredible service on a take-out order! Will definitely become one of my new favorites!Keep up the good work!

Comment: The atmosphere is trendy, and thats what youre paying for. The sushi was average, but for the price Id expect a bit better. A Philly roll definitely shouldnt be considered a special roll. I was never asked if I wanted a drink, and there were gnats bugging me the whole time. Wouldnt recommend.

Comment: Everything was fantastic! Ive eaten sushi all over St. Louis -- this, by far, was one of the best Ive ever had. Fresh food, prepared when you order it, and the servers were prompt.The menus are in cheapy folders, but dont let that fool you. The food definitely makes up for it all. I also like that they use glass jars for drinks. =)Definitely will be coming back with some friends.
