My friends and I have been coming to Tokyo Sushi for over a decade.The sushi is always fresh, meticulously prepared with a fantastic presentation, and tastes excellent. And its affordable! Its not grocery-store cheap, of course, but its not fine-dining expensive, either. Its just right.And the service is phenomenal. Their front and wait staff are among the nicest, most professional Ive seen anywhere. They check on you often and speak to you with the utmost kindness. The sushi is great but the people are, somehow, even better. I havent gone to many sushi places in STL because I every time I think about going somewhere else, I just end up here again.The inside is awesome, too. Its a cozy and cool environment. Tables, booths, and a bar---whatever level of socializing you want.Hanging out here with my friends over some sushi and sake is among one of my favorite things to do of all time.

Looking at the sushi menu, $13 for a 6 piece roll? Do yourself a favor and drive to Oushi Sushi in creve coeur. Youll be glad you did.

I was served the wrong dish. I got udon noodles with grilled shrimp and veggies. My server must have written the wrong thing when i ordered. Tempura udon is fried shrimp and veggies with bowl of udon noodles in broth. I never had problem under previous ownership. Not worth what i was charged. Very dissatisfied

Comment: Ive been getting lunch here almost every day that I work due to my location and Im always so excited to pick it up! Sushi is one of my absolute favorite foods to eat and I dont think Ill ever get tired of eating theirs. On top of that the shumai, gyoza and fried rice is very good! I also enjoyed trying their chicken katsu awhile back. The food is always fresh, has a lot of flavor and the staff is very kind!

We recently have had disappointing Sushi since I understand the managment has changed. Fried Philly Rolls were a little soggy and tasted completely different from previous orders and very bland taste. Not sure what the problem has been, but I understand the lady who worked the front desk has retired and now the food is sub par. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Sunset Hills, but it may be time to move on

The tuna is no longer dark red but a disturbing light pink color. Maybe Sung’s brother will fix this in the near future. Comment: Its true, the hole-in-the-wall is usually your safest bet for authentic! A very calm atmosphere, quick service and the chef was extremely focused on his work. The food was great, but a little overpriced for the quantity provided (maybe not for the area but Im from out of town). The only other complaint I have is that a little background music would have made for better ambiance, as well as some more authentic desert options (would have loved some taiyaki or even real mochi) but Id say go support this place!!! It was very slow, I believe I was the only customer in the restaurant, and the food was too good for that to be the case.

Comment: What is this? Beginners hour? Sushi is traditionally meant to be BITE SIZE. Manhattan roll has far too much rice and is so big I had to attempt to cut in in half to be able to eat it and fit it in my mouth. Look at it compared to the normal size rainbow roll next to it. Enormous and nothing makes me more annoyed than when I have to try and deconstruct a piece of sushi just to make it small enough to eat. Shouldn’t have left the kitchen, sushi is not meant to be this large or have this much rice.

Comment: My husband and I have been going here for about 8 years and it is by far the best sushi I have ever had. They put just the right amount of rice in their rolls unlike competitors that feel that literally half of the roll has to be rice (so much that you cant taste the ingredients). My husband and I have become sushi snobs and rate every other place against Tokyo Sushi to see if it stands up. The only other place I found that is very similar is Tani in Clayton but they had to close their doors due to COVID. Also the service is fantastic! Long live Tokyo Sushi!!

I had ordered a lunch special, which included sushi, soup, and salad. The sushi was okay, but was a little on the dry side. The Philadelphia roll was very overpowered by the cream cheese and only tasted of this ingredient. I could clearly tell that the Miso Soup was prepackaged, which was a HUGE disappointment. The salad (prepackaged as well) consisted of large, white pieces of iceberg lettuce with a side cup of Italian dressing. This was also a letdown due to it not being authentic whatsoever. The overall quality of the cuisine could definitely use some work, but the best part of the experience was the time it took to receive my meal, so kudos to the team for being speedy.Tip: There are more parking spaces around the backside of the building.

He said that there was nothing he could do about it and I should speak with the owner. When I spoke to her she seemed very uninterested about the situation and did not want to rectify the situation. She just gave me a blank stare and said there is nothing she can do. Moral of the story is that I came hungry and left very unsatisfied and still hungry.

The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is decorated well with a pleasant Japanese theme.The ginger dressing on their house salad and Tokyo Garden Salad is amazing! Highly recommend! Miso soup and seaweed salad are also very good.Their sushi, sashimi, and rolls are some of what I would consider the best in town, and reasonably priced. Not the cheapest, but hey, sushi isnt cheap, and if it is, it probably isnt very good! Sometimes it can take a while to get your order, but the quality is good and generally worth the wait if there is one.Good sake selection for those who like to partake.Tokyo Sushi is in our regular rotation, and we plan on keeping it there for a while! Highly recommend!

They get their fresh, never frozen, fish 3x week. Not only beautifully arranged on the plate but I feasted on 12 pieces of sashimi for under $25 and each piece was so tender and delicious —Red Snapper, Yellowfin, Tuna and Salmon. Non-descript front but beautifully decorated interior. I was very surprised to see a lot of very casually-dressed Millenials in here enjoying this culinary treat.
