Comment: I had a great experience at this Wasabi location. They had a happy hour deal on sushi rolls and I tried a few different kinds. Seriously amazing and delicious! Fresh . The cocktails were fantastic and Jade is a mixing pro! The service from everyone was top notch,Nick took care of us and is awesome. They had live music on Thursday which was just right. Really nice atmosphere, laid back but also elevated at the same time. Will be back soon.

If you start looking more closely you’ll feel as did, disappointed and not eager to return. Comment: Very strange experience at this Wasabi location. We went at about 6pm on Saturday and the place was very nearly empty. In spite of that, the music was blaring - so much so that we had to relocate tables to be further from a speaker. Server kept citing problems with a new system that resulted in us getting an incorrect order. And the food was mediocre - noodles were undercooked, sushi was poorly rolled, beer was flat. Sad to say that we wont be back.

Comment: Horrible experience, and the food matched. My wife, daughter, and I went to eat here and were extremely disappointed. My daughter and I ordered an entree and my wife got a sushi roll They bring both the entrées out and do not bring out my wifes sushi and then about 10 minutes later they tell us the sushi roll is almost done, and the kitchen was just ahead of schedule. Then about another 15 minutes later ,after my daughter and I are about done with our food, they tell us that theyre missing ingredients for my wife sushi roll. Its not a big deal to not have the ingredients but to wait till everybody in the party is done eating before you let us know is a problem. To top it off the food is not worth the money you will spend. I spent almost 20 bucks for some chicken and a cup of steamed rice which was meh at best!

Unfortunately, this particular establishment fell short of my expectations in several aspects.We ordered the gyoza soup with high hopes. However, when it arrived, it was disappointingly cold. I promptly asked the server to reheat it, hoping for a quick resolution. Unfortunately, even after reheating, the soup had an off-putting sour taste to it.The sushi, which should have been the highlight, turned out to be incredibly flavorless and loosely rolled. It left me wishing I had opted for the sushi at a nearby Whole Foods, which I found to be far more enjoyable and conveniently located just a short drive away.The service was okay.I am going to go make an actual lunch now.

Comment: I ordered the salmon fillet (medium cooked) with asparagus and rice for take out, and was unpleasantly surprised that a) the salmon was as dry as can be (well done might be an understatement) b) the piece of salmon was about half the size of what I expected (half the size of my palm) c) the miso soup was saltier than any other miso soup Ive ever had and simply not edible and d) the asparagus was missing altogether. Needless to say that the $19 did not reflect the quality and quantity of food I received. Highly disappointing.Update: Google review response including offer to make things right is well received, though considering I was there for a weekend trip, its irrelevant. Food quality is still subpar, and considering the price still disappointing.

The ambiance of this place was sexy to me. It was amazing. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. This was the first time Id ever had a salmon poke bowl with spicy mayo and Ive been craving that bowl ever since. It was so dang good. My partner had a sushi roll called Girl on Fire and that thing was literally on fire when he got it. It was something to see this. All I can say is AMAZING! Youve gotta experience this once you visit. You will not be disappointed. They also have an outside bar with tables for those who may want to enjoy on the patio. It was cold when we went so the outside patio wasnt open.The parking here was right outside the door with a lot shared with the hotel next door. There was also street metered parking just in case the lot is full. It even had plug ins for electric cars to charge. I was like whoa how cool is this! You do have to wear a mask upon entry. Theres hand sanitizers readily available if you need it. This place is wheelchair accessible. Its family friendly as we saw a few families there with small kiddos. Comment: Staying at the Aloft Cortex next door we thought this was the perfect place to order dinner from. We got sushi and edamame. Sushi tasted fresh and the edamame was well cooked. They forgot to give us chopsticks and soy sauce as we ordered to go, which resulted in us having to leave our hotel room to wait in line to get them again, but the food was good. A little pricey but it’s a trade off with not having to drive or order delivery.

We enjoyed their patio in nicer weather and now are savoring indoor dining experiences. The food is delicious and we very much love the Bento boxes. Prices are reasonable, the menu is extensive and portions are generous. There is an extremely cordial and welcoming atmosphere. Most of all, the service is impeccable. We have had Lorna as our server on numerous occasions and she is excellent, gracious and highly welcoming. We cannot say enough positive comments about this restaurant, its accommodating, excellent staff, and the delicious food.

We wait at the door for a while before a server says something along the lines of “someone will be with you shortly”. This is all fine, and we expect to be seated at some point since there are maybe 3 tables inside (from what we could see) and only 1 or 2 outside, the patio is visible when you walk in. We even felt kind of bad because we saw how few tables were there and thought they were closing within a few minutes, so we checked the hours to be sure that wasn’t the case.Then a few more minutes later the host (probably) comes up to us and says that they’re no longer seating anyone because “the food won’t be ready until after the restaurant closes”. This is what got me. Everyone I was with had worked in restaurants and never heard of that sort of policy. If we are still open, we might* warn you of a long wait for food, but we’ll still seat you and serve you until you’re done - like imagine it being after close at a restaurant and a table was seated late and you tell them they can’t have dessert. Maybe Wasabi would do that actually. :’)I wonder what would happen if someone had already been seated and they didn’t place their order in time. “Sorry, you’ve gotta go that won’t be ready until after we want to go home”.Anyway, apparently this location takes over an hour for rolls to come out.

Comment: This is a great Wasabi location! I have now had Wasabi from Rock Hill, Wasabi from Clayton, and Wasabi from the Cortex. Hands-down, the Cortex rolls were assembled better and tighter - much easier to enjoy at the Park. Plus the taste was super fresh. I’m not sure what Clayton is doing wrong, but the same rolls tasted stale/fishy, and they fell apart as soon as you picked them up. It made an expensive mess, and we won’t return to that location.If you have the luxury of choosing the location - go with the Cortex. You won’t regret it!

We came in to celebrate the birth of our son before heading back over to the hospital and our food was by far the best thing either of us have had in longer than I can remember. Our waitress was lovely and when she realized why we were celebrating she gave us a free dessert of our choice to congratulate us. The restaurant seemed clean. I guess they are carry out and delivery only right now?? They have a nice space for dining in and tables outside (with umbrellas). During normal times - it would be a great place for dine in.We ordered shrimp tempura roll, vegetable roll and shrimp fried rice. I’m not a sushi expert but it was really good. The sushi held up fairly well for take out. The shrimp tempura roll was my favorite!The service was good. I had to call in my order because the online ordering would not allow orders to be place in advance. I think that was a one-off. The phone was answered promptly so no problems with calling in my order.I have a feeling I will get carry out from this restaurant at least once a month. It was super convenient. Plus we enjoyed the food.Apparently this restaurant is locally owned. I’m happy to support them!!

We ordered online with bring to your car delivery and were immediately notified that our food would be ready for pickup at 5:31 pm. Not around 5:30 but 5:31. We live close by and arrived at 5:18. They texted us a link: Click this link when you get here. We clicked the link at 5:28. At 5:46 we were still waiting, as other customers came and went. Finally my wife said Im going in. At first there was no one greeting customers, then their very nice front of the house person came out, took our name and said our order was not ready. After a while it finally got assembled. At that point the hot items of our dinner were warm and so were the cold items. The stuffed avocado was weird and the edamame was lacking the coarse salt it is usually served with. We had tipped 22% -- on a pick-up order -- when we placed it because we wanted to support a locally owned restaurant. In return they let us down.

Comment: The customer service at this location is first class! It started with the bartender with the first name L. She was very personable and a good mixologist; I felt right at home! The sushi was excellent and of high quality. Its very affordable but no matter the price, it was worth every penny! I highly recommend the C.J. Special Roll. It will not stay on your plate for long! Even the Covid protocols were followed by the entire staff and customers. Literally, everything about the experience was quite remarkable. Thank you, Wasabi Sushi! I will be back for more!

Comment: When I lived at SIUE a couple years ago, the Wasabi in Edwardsville was always one of my favorite places to eat. After moving back home, I was bummed because I wasn’t close to any locations. Few months back, I moved to Central West End and I was literally wondering if there was a Wasabi open up yet. A couple weeks ago Im looking for sushi and low and behold, Wasabi Cortex magically appeared. I’ve been there 3 times now for pick up, its 3/3!!! I guess the chain is super consistent regardless the location, and now theres good competition for sushi in the area!
