Comment: I ALWAYS come to this location. Service is always great. Always with a smile. I got rangoons, wasabi special, shrimp tempura (hope I spelled that right) . Everything was pretty good. Had a bit of a wait to seat but it was Saturday night. Great location as well. Will be back for sure. =)

Comment: My daughter wanted sushi after her cheer comp and we were lucky to find Wasabi close to the venue. We got right in and our server Lauren took good care of us. She helped my daughter pick out something she would like and customized it for her. Our food was delicious and I was very impressed how quickly the chefs had our sushi made and then out to the table. I like to try things I can’t get at home when I’m out of town, so I tried the dragons breath roll it was delicious and a very dramatic presentation!

Comment: Worst wait for food EVER and only 3 other tables with customers filled. 45 minutes were spent in total at restaurant for jalapeno appetizers and 2 California rolls. Appetizer served after 20 minute wait and then an additional 20 minutes for sushi. Although server was polite and attentive, it was observed that the reason for long wait was on food prep. Spent $33.00 and left hungry and felt i ate only a snack. Presentation was top notch and atmosphere great for those who wish to have lengthy time with conversation or perhaps a gathering.

Comment: Great sushi, appetizer with excellent service. I ordered the appetizer sampler with a spring roll, gyoza, shrimp tempura and crab rangoon. It was more than I should have eaten but everythign was so good I couldnt resist. The sweet chili sauce was perfect with just enough heat to make it delicious and edible. I also had a shrimp tempura roll. The flavors were good with the crispy topping making a nice crunchy addition. The roll did fall apart when trying to use chopsticks. Thsi didnt affect the falbvor just made it harder to eat. Megan, the server was exceptional. I almost felt as if she was taking care of me in her own home. Great job with recommendations and refilling my drink.

Comment: If it’s sushi you want, sushi you shall receive at Wasabi! Seriously, in the city-like atmosphere of Streets of St Charles, this takes the cake of uniqueness! The menu was good quality- except, why is the amount of sushi you get per roll not on the menu? It was seriously confusing for me with not knowing how many I could get if I wasn’t careful. The roll I got was six, which would have been nice to know or else I could’ve double ordered it. At the beginning of the experience, our server didn’t know we were seated, which she apologized and said nobody told her we were seated there, so my only constructive criticism is to maybe improve server-to-server communication? All in all, not bad! The Alaska Roll is really good if you want my recommendation!

Comment: Just walked in this place and was not greeted. A host walked right passed me. My children and I waited 5 mins before the young man came and even acknowledged our presence. Told him how many was in my party total of 3 and he said he had to ask another host could we be seated. He went and asked the another host and she looked like she was disgusted to even seat us we never got a response and we walked out. What a way to give off a first impression definitely will not go to this location again. The dine in area wasn’t busy at all maybe a total of 3 families. Please give your staff a crash course on customer service

Comment: Its 1:30 on Monday June 26th. We walked in at approximately 12:45 and there were only two other tables that had diners. The girl who served us who did not give us her name has pinkish purple dyed hair. She asked what we would like to drink and we told her water and that we would order the combination appetizer. We also told her we would order the rolls when she came back with our water. 10 minutes later we still do not have our water and another couple had come in and was seated. 5 minutes later she walks over to their table and brings them their drinks and we still do not have our water. She brought us our Waters after that. We were going to walk out but she was walking up to our table finally with our appetizers. We ate the appetizers and left no tip. Servers should know their priorities. We walked up to the front desk to pay and she was too busy leaning on her hand talking to the sushi maker to notice a standing there. After 3 or 4 minutes she finally noticed us. I dont care how good your food is, if your servers are this bad you will not get my service.UPDATE: I did contact the manager via her email. Nothing was suggested or offered to make it right as stated below.

Comment: Wonderful sushi place, especially for lunch. Their lunch special is a steal. Two rolls with a soup or salad all for like $15. Theyve got an expansive menu and plenty of drink options. I ended up getting the Philidelphia roll and their Mr Yum roll. Both were delicious. Normally pretty underwhelmed by Philadelphia rolls and only order them if they come in a combo, but I think Id order one just on its own at this place. Friendly staff too! Just pray you can get parking; Streets of St Charles has always been a mess in that regard but thats not the restaurants fault.

We ordered a stuffed avocado, three sushi rolls, and a poke bowl. The stuffed avocado arrived approx. 20 minutes after placing our order. The sushi rolls and poke bowl; 45 minutes after that.We dont typically track the amount of time it takes for a restaurant to deliver food. We often get lost in our conversation, enjoying each others company. Because our previous experience just two weeks prior, where we had waited nearly an hour for our food, our awareness (around kitchen proficiency) was heightened and our antennas were up.Our server apologized profusely, offering us free green tea. She also mentioned part of our wait time was a result of the big boss calling the sushi chef on the phone, therefore hed been occupied and unable to tend to our order. The best time to be having a coaching conversations with employees is AFTER HOURS, not while customers are present in your restaurant.This is the first 3-star review I have ever left in my life...... and frankly, I’m being nice by giving 3 instead of 2……because I know how hard it is to start a business, let alone continue operations profitably and successfully over the course of time. Comment: My wife and I went yesterday at 12:30. It was not busy at all for lunch time on a Saturday. We were sat promptly and took our time looking over the menu since we’ve never been there before. We ordered three rolls (shrimp tempura, girl on fire and scallop volcano roll). The appetizer sampler, shrimp dumplings and the spicy entree with beef. The appetizers with the exception of the shrimp dumplings weren’t even hot. The shrimp had a very overly soft texture to it. (both in the tempura roll and the tempura appetizer). The food did arrive quickly though. The side salad dressing was very overwhelming to where it was inedible. And the scallop volcano roll didn’t taste good at all (very fishy tasting) and the spicy mayo had a weird taste to it. Also the spicy entree with beef only had five small pieces of meat that was cooked well done and very tough to chew. It also wasn’t very spicy. For $17.00 you’d expect to have more than five small bite sized pieces of protein. The rice on the rolls and the entree was very mushy (overcooked). And the rolls were falling apart, so you couldn’t even pick them up with the chopsticks. You could get all you can eat sushi for almost the same price as that entree at Sushi Ai. The sushi is also way better. We spent $100 between the food and tip and feel like the whole experience was a complete waste of money. We gave them the benefit of the doubt as there were more good reviews for this place than bad reviews. But we should’ve trusted the 3.5 star rating. Don’t waste your hard earned money here! You’d think with all of the high end restaurants next to here, it would be a great experience, but no. Go to Pf Changs, Prasino, Tucanos, or Bar Louie, Firebirds or Napoli 2. And if you’re interested in good sushi, go to Sushi Ai or Kitaro in Ofallon. Kitaro has great sushi, great food and you get what more than what you pay for. Trust the Star rating and the negative reviews. This place isn’t worth your time or money.

Comment: Last night was bliss ! I love sushi & I have been CRAVING it ! I am currently pregnant and Lauren was AMAZING !! She is super knowledgeable of the rolls and suggested the best fully cooked rolls for me and my unborn baby. My craving was met and exceeded my every desire ! Comment: Ordered from this location about 4 times. I have had extremely long waits for two of these orders. The first wait was almost 2 hours. However, this was during the Tuesday night $6 roll deal so it is understandable.This second wait was over an hour past the delivery time via UberEats, and when it finally did arrive our ramen looked nothing like Ive seen when ordered at other restaurants. It tasted like broth and soy sauce and burnt nastiness. We had a chicken and tofu order and the tofu order had no tofu. It was the saddest bowl of ramen I have ever seen.The sushi is good but I dont think I will trust this location again.

When I spoke to the restaurant the response was, “well, you can cancel the order or just wait.” No apology, update/estimate on time or offer to take off an appetizer was given. The delivery driver waited 30 minutes. One of the rolls was missing the side of sauce and the Yaki Soba noodles were cold. Half of the avocado in the Stuffed Avocado appetizer was dark brown. I’ve ordered these items before and it’s been inconsistent.

Comment: Just left Wasabi I. The streets of St Charles. We were the for 1.5 hours and the waitress came by for our initial drink order, which was 2 martinis. That took 30 minutes. Then I flagged her down to order food because she hadn’t asked, just dropped of our drinks. After an hour of waiting after we ordered food, I stopped the waitress again who we had watched plug our food order into the iPad, but she had no idea what our order was. So we left. With no food. On our 6th anniversary of marriage. And then had to go wait 45 minutes for a table elsewhere. Horrible experience. The waitress didn’t apologize, didn’t check on us, just when I said we were leaving she said that was fine. There were a total of 15 sat tables and 3 waitresses, they were not busy either.

She had a ton of great suggestions and the food was delicious. Comment: Im referring to the St Charles location. Im counting 4 tables in the entire restaurant. After 15 minutes we had to ask the hostess for our salad and soup. The waitress had disappeared in the back. After another 20 minutes we asked about our food. She went in back and brought it out immediately, which tells me it was sitting waiting for her to do her job. The food was very cold. The rolls were good but the service was horrible. She only got a 15% tip. Usually I tip 20-30%. Poor service ruined our experience.

My 3 sons and I decided to try it after a hockey game (visiting from Bowling Green, KY) and it didnt really impress us. Our server was ernest and tried but it didnt make up for the quality of the food. We ordered the Dragon roll, Super Crab roll, California hand roll, Spider Roll, Beef Bento Box, Spicy Chicken entree, 4 soft dinks and a large hot sake which came out to around $96 which would have been fine if the quality had been excellent. All the rolls were kind of bland, the spicy chicken was odd, the gyoza soup was lukewarm but still tasty, the sake sat for a bit and wasnt as hot bc it wasnt brought immediately to our table. I will say that I liked the beef Bento box which they changed the beef from teriyaki to spicy. I would definitely order that again. Everything else ... nah. Overall it was ok.

Most of the time servers and chefs deserve the benefit of the doubt, maybe a bad day, super busy, someone called in sick, etc.. But not this time. Went in on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered 4 total rolls on the menu, nothing extra or fancy. The place was empty except for one other table who had already been served, and we waited 35 minutes for our food. If the place was busy it would be different. Besides that the rolls were near tasteless, I had to walk up to the sushi bar and ask for a vat of eel sauce to drown my food in. The $61 tab (before tip) was like a kick in the teeth. I get it, sushi is expensive, but the lazy and poor service makes it all the more painful. If I could give a zero star I would. Never going back to this or any Wasabi.

Comment: We called ahead and reserved a table for 3, that was available as soon as we arrived, super awesome. It was busy, our waitress was fun and kind. We ordered our appetizer and rolls at the same time, and we got all of our food in a very timely fashion. We had: 3 house salads - ginger dressing, it was just ok, the orange zest flavor was overwhelming, making it just ok. Edamame was served complimentary and was delicious. We order 6 rolls in all. They tasted GREAT! We ordered 2 rolls and rice to go, and this was a terrible idea, because we ended waiting longer for those 2 rolls than we did for our full meal. When the waitress did finally bring our food that we waited over 30 mins for, she kind of slammed it on the table, it wasnt very professional. 🤷‍♀️ She was sympathetic that we were frustrated, but didnt offer anything to compensate our time or annoyance. There was over $100 spent, it was a poor way to end our night of delicious sushi.

We were just asked for our check when finally the food was delivered and it was aweful.Everything fried was cold and soggy. And the rolls were tiny.I asked the waitress if the manager was aware of the problems (every table was complaining). She said she was but had done nothing to help eliminate the problem or communicate with the customers. She left the difficult conversations to the waitresses to field.We will never go back. Comment: My wife and I went to Wasabi at Streets of St. Charles last week to celebrate our anniversary. We’ve been twice before and loved the food, service and atmosphere. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. When we arrived we were sat by the hostess. She was extremely friendly, kind and started small talk with us. She left us the menus and said our server will be with us shortly. That was the only good part about the visit. We waited a full 15 minutes and we got up and left. We have never walked out of a restaurant before. During that 15 minutes we were not even acknowledged. No one brought water, no one came over and said they would be right with us, no one apologized for the delay and all the servers just walked right by our table many times. Before we left, my wife walked over to one of the servers and asked if she could speak to a manager. The response was “no managers are working.” I understand that restaurants get busy, and servers get overwhelmed. My wife and I have both worked in F&B for many years. However, it seems that some training is needed on customer service (except for the hostess) and there needs to be a management presence on site.

I ordered the Maki lunch combo with both rolls from B. Both were supposed to include avocado, and cucumber. They both were missing the avocado. Both of them had some cucumber looking thing but not nearly good enough. Neither of the roles had any flavor. The shrimp and salmon in my rolls tasted fishy. Shrimp is not supposed to taste fishy. When speaking to the manager she was not helpful at all and had an attitude. she gave me a $2 discount on my food and didnt charge my coworker for soup which was originally supposed to be included with my meal anyways. The food was inedible and I left over half my plate at the table. The manager claims that I ate over half of my plate which I in fact did not. I had about four pieces between both roles and it was inevitable. When asking if they had added any avocado, she said that they had run out but they had just gotten an order and and that they are cutting it right now. I think that was a bunch of BS. I asked you have some avocado brought out once they finish cutting it and that never happened. The manager also said that no other customers were complaining about their food and that we are the only ones complaining but if you looked around the room you would see that most of the food was left on other customers plates when they left.

We wait 10 mins after being seated before we got acknowledged and the table next to us that came later was served far ahead of us. Once we got served drinks and edamame, our meal was served in reasonable time but our waitress never came back and we ran out of water and never got refills. Unfortunately, I wasnt feeling well and really needed more, oh well. I ended up walking outside for air which helped, but my husband had to wait for another 10 mins for the check and he asked for water to go and he waited and never got it. He went up and asked directly for some and never got it still. I hate leaving bad reviews, but was hoping for a better evening, and though I wasnt feeling great, wouldve been nice to have had quick and helpful service.

The rolls were perfect, I forget which exact ones except the Kamikaze. The free edamame was a nice touch as an appetizer too. We also had a side of chicken fried rice, and I would literally come back just for that. It was that good. Turns out our gift card was too old to work with their system when it came time to pay. Our waitress took her time asking if we wanted anything to drink. Actually, she said, Just water is ok, right? Well, no. We wanted cocktails. It took her 10 more minutes to bring us a cocktail menu. When she finally came to get our drink order, 5 minutes LATER, she reeked of smoke. Like a 5 day old dirty ashtray. We left and went somewhere close, where the service was great and so were the tacos.

Comment: Sushi roll was good. A little pricey but not much more than any other sushi place in the area. Really nice and quiet interior. Decent selection of local beers. I would go back here.

Comment: Really good sushi, with great vegan and vegetarian options. I had the bonsai roll which was great with the sweet potato. Never had that before, but it added just the right flavoring to the roll. The avocado roll was also really good, but Im sure that would be hard to screw up. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and filled drinks when needed.

Comment: Sub-par. Overpriced. Just a couple of words that come to mind when I hear Wasabi. You can get a better deal pretty much anywhere else. Only been once and probably wont go back just because of the price to quality ratio... Small sizes for high prices. Good service, great atmosphere, and good fried rice, but the sushi was not good...most likely wont be returning.

Comment: Love it ! Im vegetarian so I create my own room. I get avocado, asparagus, cucumber and cream cheese with the soy paper roll fried with spicy mayo on top ! I also get a side of sweet and sour sauce. Yum ! The plum iced tea is great tea. Sometimes the service can be slow but thats because they are busy. Id rather it be slow at times and the food done right than a rushed job . 🙌👍

Comment: 1st review I have ever felt inclined to write. Still waiting on food, or at least the miso soup that comes with order! The drink was great but has been empty for 20 minutes! Not sure if a server quit or what but he service and wait time was sub par. I will say, they were friendly when they showed up so that was pleasant... food just arrived and tastes great which is the reason this even got a 2 star!

Comment: Sushi was delicious and service was good. Only thing that kept this from 5 stars is the servers were a little slow and the boat the sushi came out on was wet from the washer. But the ambiance was great and plenty of tables so limited wait.

Comment: This place never disappoints! Every single roll we have tried from the Batman to Mr. Kims to the rainbow has been absolutely delicious. A little pricey, but on par with most other sushi joints in the area. Plus theyre open on Sundays. Worth a try for dine-in or carryout.

Comment: The two stars are for the food, if I was just rating the service I would give it 0/5. Immediately when entering the restaurant we told the hostess that we had to leave to catch a movie in 1 hour, and were told that wouldnt be a problem so we decided to eat here. Unfortunately our order was not taken for 30 minutes, during which time we saw other parties enter the restaurant, have their orders taken and recieve their food. Finally when we got up to leave our waitress decided to take our order and assured us it would be out in time, but by the time it came I had to ask for a to go box since we now only had 5 minutes until our movie started. We were there for an hour with empty waters the whole time and were still charged $40 for 4 small sushi rolls that we had to eat while walking to the movie theater. The rolls tasted good, but were on the expensive side. I wish we had left after waiting 30 minutes for our order to be taken to save us the time and money.

Comment: The sushi was sub-par. The rice was dry, the sweet and sour was obviously cheap and out of the bottle. The food over all was not nearly good enough to explain the price. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice, the service is great and the resturaunt is decorated beautifully. The tables are spaced out to keep you from feeling crowded even when its busy.Still, i wont be coming here again...

Comment: Ive come here a couple times on Tuesday for their $6 Roll special. Their food is incredible - I havent had any bad sushi from here. Its a fairly small place so everyone is packed in. Servers have a hard time keeping up with the amount of people. My average dining experience here takes 1.5 - 2 hours. Definitely call ahead and reserve a table on Tuesdays!

Comment: Wasabi has become our new go-to sushi place, along with the venerable Crazy Sushi. They have great lunch specials and on Tuesdays all rolls are $6 for dinner! The food is great, the wait staffs consistently friendly and helpful, and the management checks in and makes sure everything is good. They are often busy so you may want to call ahead to reserve a table.

Comment: Ok, first let me tell you that this place has good sushi, I have been here a few times most of the time during the week, but I wouldnt suggest going here on a weekend. Even if you have a reservation, the wait time just for the waiter to greet you is 30 minutes. If the manager would have a complete staff in place I will gladly make this a 4 star place.Edit 7/26/2016 - Again, mismanagement of staff. 1/3 of the tables are open (its a small restaurant) and still a 45 min wait.

Comment: Went here for lunch with friends who are sushi lovers. Caveat: I dont care for it. The menu selection for sushi fans is extensive; limited for the rest of us. In addition, the reviewer comments about poor service are warranted. There was a 20 minute lag between my friends being served their lunches, and me receiving my tempura and rice. For $10/lunch I guess I expected more. Our server was friendly and personable but that did not make up for the very long wait.
