My husband and I go for the sushi, but occasionally I get sandwiches there.The place used to be a Quiznos and I was surprised my coworkers raved about a sushi place having great sub sandwiches, but they legitimately are making sandwiches that could rival Snarfs.The inside has a nice vibe but I highly recommend you order ahead if you are in a rush, because they get slammed at lunchtime.

Comment: We stopped here on our way out of town. Perfect for a quick lunch. Service was great and our sushi was delicious! 10/10 we would dine here again if we lived closer. They have a variety of bubble tea, all very fairly priced. The ginger was interesting (in a good way!) - my husband thinks they pickle it themselves.I noticed they have a drive-through, not sure if that’s for call ahead orders only or if you can order there on the spot. Either way it is a cute little place; don’t be fooled by the unassuming exterior!

Comment: Food is good, Nigiri is delicious, albeit smaller. Ginger tastes weird, but wasabi is nice and strong. Rolls are ok because all the sauces are heavy Chinese-food sauces. Sushi sauces are usually super light and are not sweet. The prices are right, so its a good deal. Chinese spring rolls (not Vietnamese spring rolls) are fried, but are quite delicious. Fast attentive service, family friendly and nice staff. So four stars for overall quality!

The sushi was pretty good (7/10), but was really well priced so I would take that quality/price ratio any day. Most basic rolls were around $6, with most specialty rolls being around $13. Very small town atmosphere inside, will definitely try to come back when I get a chance.

Maybe we just caught them on a bad day.Uber Eats - DinnerOrdered the Tonkotsu ramen, spring rolls, and crab rangoon. Ramen was incredibly bland and the pork did not look or taste fresh. The broth was not enjoyable and just didn’t have any flavor. I’m not a ramen expert but if you’ve gone to other ramen places like Menya Rui, Nudo House, or Nami and enjoyed there dishes and quality of food, Yummi Tummi may not be a good choice. There is a significant price difference too. Above mentioned places are $15-20.Yummy Tunmi was $12Crab Rangoon and spring rolls were fine.I will still try Yummi Yummi again and see if we can catch them on a good day.

The sushi chefs were rolling nonstop, and the restaurant was very busy between dine-in, take-out, and the drive thru. We had crab rangoons, 2 miso soups, 3 specialty sushi rolls, and 2 boba milk teas. Everything was delicious, service was perfect, and prices were a great value for the quantity and quality of the food. Cant wait to try more rolls! Service was slow but we went at 6pm on a Friday and they were very busy (including a long drive through line) and seemed to have only one server inside.Miso soup should have been warmer but it was still delicious! They are folded up in almost bite-size pieces and have a perfect filling to wrapper ratio. The filling also has a perfect crab to cream cheese ratio. I wish Id gotten an order to take home!The sushi rolls were all delicious! The cuts of fish on top were not too thick like some other places Ive tried. There wasnt excess rice, either. There was lots of filling!Sweet potato roll was excellent, and the five pieces were big for a sushi roll. This might have been my favorite roll.Dragon roll was also a top favorite. Bird Of Paradise has mango inside, and Ive never had a sushi roll with fruit inside but it was soo good! Eel avocado was amazing for being so simple. There was one I dont remember the name of, with crab and tempura banana inside, that was good but we couldnt quite taste any banana.Mocha bubble tea was tasty. I hadnt had bubble tea in years and didnt really know what to expect but I really liked it!I DEFINITELY recommend this place for sushi - and crab Rangoon!! Just maybe dont go at dinnertime on a Friday if you dont have 2.5hrs to spend!(I got miso soup, spring rolls, a specialty roll, a classic roll, and bubble tea for $35)

I think they had just reopened this place from it being another business.However on this visit we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. As a matter of fact it is now my favorite place for tempura shrimp roll. The flavors were bright and fresh and the roll was tightly packed with large shrimp. The chicken shumai was hot and very flavorful. We also shared tuna-cado appetizer and the tuna was fresh and flavorful and the avocados used in all our dishes were firm, fresh and tasty. Service was very good, with server coming around just enough to refill drinks, etc. My only complaint was the tea was not hot when served. It was hot water in mugs with tea bags. Maybe switching to tea pots would help. But other than that it was all good, and prices were reasonable. We will definitely return!

Comment: Have you ever been to a place so good that you review it twice? This is that place. The ramen is the best ramen in STL. The sushi is the best sushi for at least 100 miles in any direction. I have tried all of them. The service is next level. They also have a full menu of fresh ingredient sub sandwiches for you weirdos that don’t like ramen or sushi. And they have a friggin drive through window! The building looks like it will fall down soon, but don’t let they deter you.

The noodles weren’t among the best I’ve had with ramen bowls at restaurants around the country. The meat was also cooked well, 4.5 out of five for the meat. Being in St. Louis and looking at a Japanese place which also has a sub sandwich menu, I was expecting something subpar at best—boy was I wrong. I gave an order and a lady took it and said thank you, but when I pulled forward to the window, no one ever came to take my money or check on me or anything. The sushi and the sandwiches are really good, and the later additions, like the ramen, live up to the standards they set at the beginning. Comment: What a gem. I stopped by on a whim today not knowing they opened at 11. The owner let me in a few minutes before the restaurant opened. I tried the rainbow roll, the fish was much more fresh than some other popular spots in the area. The owner was really nice and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Will definitely be going back to try something new.Also they are usually pretty busy and are currently under staffed so there is a long wait but its definitely worth it! They work their butt off!

Comment: Always very nice, subs made perfectly with not too much crammed in the bread, and the Ramen is great. I always get a Jasmin bubble tea while I eat and an extra one to-go, theyre so good! You can see everything made right in front of you. Only menu item I dont get often is the sushi; not that its not good, because they do have a few unique rolls that I enjoy, but most of the time I receive my rolls they are at room temp. I love sushi, I eat it often which is why I still give some of theirs a chance, but room temp sushi despite me seeing it in the correct storing conditions is a turn-off. Hands down would recommend trying if youre near the Maplewood area. They deliver and theyre on PostMates!Bonus: they have a drive-thru! Perfect for when I just want a bubble tea.

Comment: Weve only had a Poke bowl twice but the quality of the Poke bowl at Toastys was the best of the two. The texture of the tuna and the salmon was firmer and had a richer flavor. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service.

Comment: My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. The tonkotsu ramen is delicious, the broth is the perfect thing for a cold or rainy day. You leave with a full and warm tummy (which makes the new name perfect, Yummi Tummi)The owner is incredibly kind and made sure my boyfriend and I loved our food when we dined in. She gave us the wrong sushi by accident and my boyfriend didnt even notice it wasnt right because it was so good, but she still insisted on giving us what we ordered, free of charge.We love this place and will definitely keep coming here as long as its here ❤️❤️

Comment: Ordered Sushi to go last Saturday night(Summer of 2018), brought it home, was excellent. (They are limited in offerings, salmon, tuna, eel, crab combinations) but for the price it is great. Weve (My wife, and 3 sons,18,18 & 16) have been regulars up there ever since. Even had weekend nights when the boys are on their own for dinner and ask if they can go up to Toasty Subs for carry out. Really like their ramen. Weve had 1 or 2 small mishaps with orders not being right for the carry out, but theyve always been very gracious and made it up later. Now if we could just get a good Indian restaurant, and a dry cleaners Maplewood would be all set!

Comment: Ive driven by this place and seen the mail advertising for a while now and always thought it was a bit of a joke - how can this combination of food work? Well, after hearing people praise it, and seeing glowing review after review, we decided to finally give the odd little building a chance and boy are we glad that we did. The sushi is freshly made and fairly priced, as well as very tasty. But the ramen is where this place shines; the tonkatsu is not super traditional but wow is it good. Im excited to try their other ramen offerings (for a reasonable price!). Funnily enough we did not try their namesake of toasty subs, but if they are of the same tier as their other offerings they wont disappoint!

Comment: Went here because the thought of a sub and sushi at the same place seemed a little too odd. I ordered online and picked up through the drive through which was also a weird thing to me. I dont know many sandwich places with a drive through and for sure no sushi places. Took them a little while to get my food together but the employees were very nice. Service is distracted as the person ringing you in is also cooking and coordinating with the other cooks. Comment: When someone told me this place had great sushi I just laughed and was thinking there was not chance in hell I am going to order sushi from the run down looking place that is a sub shop. Well I was in a desperate and adventurous mood one day and craving sushi and I live right down the street so I decided to brave it, with the lowest of low expectations. It was FANTASTIC. I like the simple rolls like just tuna avocado, they were the best rolls I have ever had, large delicious portions of tuna that you dont usually get at the sushi places. I have been there at least once a week for that last few months. The fancy rolls are fantastic too. And prices are excellent. Dont judge this place by the name and the looks.

Comment: Love the $11ish sushi and edamame deal, where you pick 2 sushi rolls and get a side of edamame. The Japanese noodle soup was good, though I am not a fan of runny yolk in fried eggs. The sushi deal with a drink of peach bubble tea is a large reason I love the place. The food is extraordinarily refreshing and fresh. I cannot recommend my favorite sushi place more.

The sushi and ramen were way better than I was expecting, and the 3-roll special was a really great value.It was a bit of a wait for our food--nothing crazy--but for the wait, they threw in a free sandwich! Afterwards, *I* forgot to grab my bubble tea straw and had to run back in, and the worker apologized as though it was her mistake and threw in two free mango juices. Please eat here, everybody. Comment: We stopped in here based on Google reviews. The place looked kind of abandoned on the outside and empty in the inside. I dont know why this place wasnt packed. It was SOOO Good. And as we ordered the gentleman told me ordering the special would be a better price for us. Prices were reasonable as they were but I appreciated his help. The food came out fast and was outstanding. They gave my daughter free ice cream when were were finished. Outstanding food and customer service. I hope they stick around because we definitely plan on going back.

Comment: Super fun place for subs and sushi! I go here all the time with my brother. Hes not a big sushi fan, but he loves their subs, and I like their sushi as well as their subs. They also have some ramen soup thats good. I strongly recommend you give this place a try, most of the food is below $10, but tastes pretty much the same as more expensive food. It hasnt been very crowded when Ive been there, and theres a drive through.

Comment: I can only speak on the sushi which is awesome! So far Ive tried the spicy salmon, shrimp tempura, dragon, and Maplewood rolls and they have all been so flavorful. One roll definitely fills me up. They also gave me their edamame to try and it was quite good. Plus, you dont even have to leave your car with their drive thru!

Comment: Great food and friendly staff. Had a delicious veggie sub on Tuesday and went back Friday for an eel avocado roll. The sushi and sandwich combination may seem strange to some, but Im thrilled to have a place with these great options within walking distance of Sunnen Office Park. As I waited for my sushi to-go Friday, Lily even offered me a soda for my wait. I dont recommend the broccoli cheddar soup, as I found it to be very bland and tasteless, but the sandwiches and freshly rolled sushi are delicious. I cant wait to try more of the menu!
